A Public beta in my opinion is pushing out the game.... I, like some people.. Want to see the game when it's fully done. You guys have been working hard on this update for about 3 in a half years with this update. Some people don't understand this, It isn't being made by an AAA company... There's a small group working on this.. (a very experienced group of people), The Krew Members have lives too.... And they're allowed to take breaks, and it hurts them the most to see people replicating stuff that isn't even supposed to be released to the public yet, Not a month ago.... I was being begged about my work, not only on the message board. but everywhere I went to post updates, And that day I felt that being in a small group making things that people enjoy isn't easy...
Fame is one thing... Greed is another... With the bad stuff out of the way.... Here are some things people can look forward too!
(migrating to the 2.2 build) - YESSIR
(new tracks) - HYPE FOR SURE
(MAJOR SPRITING WOOOOOO) - HATS OFF TO THE SPRITERS!!!!
(MENU... WOOOOOO BABY!!) - THEME SLAPS - MAJOR PROPS TO THE SCRIPTERS
(Don't forget about Tumble, Hitstun, and Tricks!) - Again MAJOR PROPS TO SCRIPTERS AND THE SPRITE ARTIST!!
(Turnaround sprites are good trolling material too can't wait to use it)
saying all these things makes me hype for this update... now matter what time it comes out at...
I'll still appreciate all the work you guys put in it!
and so will a whole lot of people.... =)
I'll hear you out that games can "look complete" but not be fully finished (I could name a handful of games that show that can absolutely be the case), but people have been starved for this game. We can only speculate for so long before the well runs dry and this whole shindig ends up as a cycle. Even a simple 2-course demo would not only satisfy the desires of the community, but would also let people speculate and form opinions through experience and not just a dump of gifs.
At least, on my end, I really don't see a problem with a public beta.
The only real thing of merit on that list is the 2.2 build for the myriad of features it adds but the only ones off the top of my head I can SEE kart using is the sprite rotating and scaling for visual effects.
Tracks would be taken care of by the community in due time (or it would of been if they didn't opt for the bizarre mod embargo) and its even stranger that they would do this when 1.3's release proved this to be true.
Menus? Really? No one plays games for their menus and I can bet money that anyone who sticks with this game for longer than the initial release will just memorize the button strokes that get them into the game the quickest and try their hardest NOT to be looking at the menus.
Tumble, Hitstun and Tricks? From what we've been shown? I'd really rather they not.
Or at least tell us we have the option of turning them on or off.
Turnaround sprites are just a cosmetic. Not something I would even notice unless I was, for some reason, looking at my character and not the player who's now clearly trying to pass me.
