Okay, now I know what it does. It does... nothing. The Console Log says it's an unknown command.

A new update is released! A list of changes can be found in the v1.2 update entry.
(Ironically, neither of the two "TODO" items listed in the script were worked on, lol)

These are mostly small tweaks aimed at fixing various bugs and improving AI ability use. For example, Sonic and Knuckles can now use their abilities to attack targets:

The other notable change is that the singleplayer bot can now mimic your powerups and shields, allowing some of the unique shield behaviors to be seen in singleplayer:

As always, many thanks to anyone who's supported this - it's been a fun little project to work on!

It's worth noting that unless a major bug is found that needs a hotfix, this will likely be the last release for the immediate future. At some point, I'd like to rewrite this to better support other mods (characters etc.) or even other game modes (parts of this could be feasibly repurposed for a match bot!), but that would need some actual time set aside... :)

I think I know how it works now we have to get the 2.2.9
Unfortunately, it looks like this didn't make the cut for 2.2.9 - the merge request for this (by CobaltBW btw, not me! Haha) is still open. Hopefully it gets included in a later version - if so, I'll update foxBot to support it. In the meantime, I'd definitely suggest BuddyEX as others have (I imagine you're already using it, but still worth mentioning - I think it's really neat!)

This is a relatively minor update that mostly fixes a few issues that fell through the cracks (such as the ring issue Modunlami reported above). It also improves Fang's combat AI, which should now be much more reliable and effective.

If you've never used the bot before, here's a quick video that showcases some of its unique behaviors:

One more for the road! A very minor bugfix update - please see the v1.3.1 update entry or simply view below:
General Changes:
  • Fix potential softlock from bots respawning in special stages
AI Behavior Changes:
  • Improve Tails' fly and fly-attack AI behaviors
  • Fix sometimes repeatedly jumping for rings etc. when we shouldn't
  • Fix sometimes aborting jump logic against certain targets too early
  • Fix jittery movement when tracking slow-moving targets
 
ITS THE MOD HOW DO YOU ADD A BOT IN MIDGAME WHEN THE MOD IS ACTIVE?

It requires a second player to be the bot.
Launch a multiplayer server, and let a second instance connect to that server. (No need to portforward btw.) Then run on the second instance's console: setbot 0 and it'll automatically be a bot with your main instance as the leader. You can add up to 31 bots, with 32 instances of the game.
