Tangle the Lemur

Tangle the Lemur 1.0.2

Hey, it's that lady from the new Sonic comics that everyone loves because she has a cool design and apparently has a cool personality too. I wouldn't know, I don't read the comics, but I have seen her around before and yeah her design is damn good. Twas a pleasant surprise to see her in Sonic Dash and of course it's great to finally see her in SRB2.

The presentation is fantastic. You tried to lower my expectations on the release post but that tail looks awesome, I can only imagine the Lua that powers it. I wasn't expecting the swinging to be as buttery smooth as it is, either - it's a little stilted on the ground but on the air it's perfect. Appreciate the way you look out for the player too - I noclipped into the blocked right path in ERZ1, thinking Tangle had a bug with her spinheight or something and boy was that a mistake, haha.

Unfortunately I do have some issues with Tangle's controls, though it's nothing too bad.

Let me get this straight: You have two tail moves at any time, the "anchor" move and the "extendo" move, and you use them depending if you're pressing *no direction* or *yes direction*. So you press Spin with *no direction* to use the "extendo" move, and Spin with *yes direction* to use the "anchor" move. Except in the air, where you press Spin with *no direction* for the "anchor" move and Spin with *yes direction* for the "extendo" move.
---Okay, but why though? The visuals communicate that the moves would be performed the same way, yet the controls reverse. It's especially strange given that the "anchor on ground" move is basically Tangle's version of the Spindash, which you WOULD use on the ground at a standstill and thus without pressing directions.

Then there are the Triple Jump and the Grabbing. The former is an absolute negative for this character - it does nothing but take away from the tailplay by giving you another way to ascend. I've tried my hardest to not use it in my playthrough and Tangle wasn't any worse off for it. The latter move I will not comment on as it's a multiplayer thing and I don't do multiplayer (the downsides of being born way off where no one can hear you scream), but I'll say I immediately see the appeal of grabbing Tails players and dragging them into a bottomless pit where they belong.

Put all together, I did enjoy my experience with Tangle. Looking forward to see what you do with Eggette!

Late but very fun! It takes quite a while to understand how it works (take your time to learn! GFZ1 is your friend) but once you got it down you're in for quite a trip!
