Opening render.png

A.k.a the addon with the most unique main page formatting! :D

About.png

And here are the features that weren't mentioned in the opening render!
-Brand new title screen background showcasing most of the locations you can expect to see in this stage.
-Custom save data with unlockables, record attack and 3 R.A emblems for time, speed and score! (The last one is mainly for the masochists. :worry: Like me!!!)

Disclaimer!.png

And believe me, there's a LOT of classrooms and other side content to see and find!
But no spooky secrets unfortunately. :C And no 1st grader math either. :C
This stage is experienced best with OPENGL rendering, but it’s not like software rendering will blow up your PC, so it’s just a matter of preferences. :wonderful: And one last important thing, this stage mainly consists of narrow corridors which may be difficult for speedy character to traverse through, so remember that in hallways of a maze, percision beats raw speed!

Enough talkin'! Time for the-

(There's a lot of these screenshots here, along with a lot of content spoilers, so beware of those two things!)

If you want to to go in blind, (which may grant you the best experience, especially if you're already a BB's fan,) then I wouldn't reveal the spoiler!

And finally, behold... All the cool guys that works have been used to make this stage a reality! Or just helped and supported my throughout the development!
Credits.png

You'll also see this in the stage itself, but without Saintza4, because I didn't realized soon enough that I will also have to credit him before I made the texture. (My bad, I kinda didn't think this through. :C)

welcome to my re-review
i have went through the map again, and have had a change of heart
PROS (2):
-big
-enemies to wail on
-great use of the game's assets
-i love baldi's basics
CON (2):
-instructions unclear: i have no idea how to progress
CONCLUSION:
a great baldi map, with use of all of the game's enemies and items to create something you would see straight out of 1993
RATING:
a full pizza

This map is unique and very long (took me 40 minutes to beat).
I like the idea of Baldi's Basics-like map in a 3D platformer!

this is actually one of the greatest custom maps of all time, as a long-time baldi fan i was dissapointed that there was no baldi's office, or filename12 or any little secrets like that, even after looking through the entire map.

but even then i still love this map so much, i spent a solid 30 minutes playing just to beat it because i wanted to explore every single path and i was not bored at any moment, and the music at the end with the ''thanks for playing! come back soon!'' from baldi was actually the perfect ending for me.

in conclusion, the only way this map could be better is if they added little easter eggs referencing baldi characters, but apart from that, its perfect.

1. Yeah, I kinda feel like v1.0 was kinda rushed in terms of content. There really wasn't that much Baldi's Basics soul in this stage. I think I held myself back when I saw how many textures this stage had. :C And yeah, there were no actual secrets in this map, but there will be now! Because I'm pretty much making a remaster of this stage. And I'm shopping for ideas for v2.0. And now these secrets are on my list. :> (Also, it's filename2 or if you want, you can call him n u l l . . . And I'll also try to add him some way, probably a glitched/corrupted portion of the stage as a secret or something.)

2. Yeah, I feel that the "hub-world" area is my favorite area in this stage. It just radiates calm after the storm vibe. And I feel the proudest of this area's music too. :3 This area will be way larger in v2 by the way. With more silly stuff to check out. :D

3. I just hope I won't have the "If it ain't broke, not fix it." situation with v2. o_o'' But I feel that I'm on a good track right now. Also, I'll try to do something like that too.

Also, would you be interested in making a custom poster for this stage? And if you read the last update entry then you should know in what way, but if you don't, then I decided to make a small collab when people can make and submit their custom posters with them being added to the walls of the schoolhouse, along with all the posters being clumped into a big gallery area at the sunset hub-world.

And if you want to do this, then you could perhaps make the poster based of your works in Paint 3D, because the rather simplistic nature of the models in that program really fits with the 90's aesthetic of BB's graphics. :3

I created this account to say that you make amazing maps and I would love to see more!

THE PEAK!!!
I love me some good Baldi's Basics gameplay every few months. Refreshes my maths. But this? I played for days straight trying to find everything. Abso-fucking-lutely worth it. Thank you for creating this masterpiece, Aqua. (Masterpiece as usual!)

Masterpiece, 20/5 stars (if it was possible). I don't usually like levels with a labyrinth format or full of narrow hallways, but this map is the BIG exception. If Baldi saw this I'm sure he would give it his official seal of the bestest schoolhouse ever. I really call this a Super Schoolhouse!

(English is not my native language, sorry if there is some bad English in my review.)

Yay! :D I somehow managed to make the best maze-stage in SRB2 it seems. This just shows you how peak BB’s is. C:<

(I also wanted to get Mystman12 a.k.a the main and only developer and creator of Baldi’s Basics to approve this stage with ”Mystman12’s/Baldi’s seal of quality” but he unfortunely didn’t respond, maybe I’ll try again in some time, but making follow up e-mails feels weird to me. :C)

Thanks for a review! :D

Well this honestly triggered my sense of Nostalgia about the 2018 Memories i had when i was young, i just can't believe 2018 was 6 years ago, and then i though it was 2 years ago, i honestly can't tell time flies really fast...

I still can remember when I first heard and seen a gameplay of BB’s. It funnily enough was a dark school morning and while eating breakfast and searching through youtube I noticed that my favorite youtuber at the time made a new video of this weirdly creppy looking game. And now I’m here making a whole map as a tribute to this series. Dam... I still remember that I had my ancient windows 7 PC and I didn’t knew that you had to unzip zip folders to properly open the files inside it. And somehow this game managed to actually be educactional for me. I was into indie horror stuff as a much younger guy than most of other people. So somehow this game actually helped me with math at the time... (That’s kinda embarassing to be honest. But I guess there’s a reason why this game is named ”potentially educational” •-•)

That’s crazy that this game (BB+) is actually getting close to being finished after 4 whole years of develpment. And looking at the pace of the major updates (Once every two months) this game may officially be finished right on the 7 year mark of this game existance. (March 31 technically but still.)

This whole franchise is truly peak silliness...

Ok this is for real the most pleasant experience I've had from a level. specially with a Baldi's Basics level and this type of Maze/Puzzle level. Letters/Posts in the walls are a useful way to progress, rings etc. very clear, I didn't have issues at all. And man, this map is insanely big! I enjoyed exploring everything before reaching to the exit. The ambient changes makes me feel not bored on this level! this last one is a big plus.

Good job on this. I saw your WIP through the time. thanks for this.

This forum really should have a way for the creator to personally upvote a review. Something like hearting a comment on youtube. I just want someone to know that I read and liked their review even If I don’t have anything to say about it.

But anyway. I’m really glad that you like this map! I really went on and beyond for the visual aspect of this stage, because let’s be honest, most of BB’s atmosphere comes from the visual design alone. And I’m glad that there are still maze enjoyers left in this community. Sometimes you don’t need any crazy level design for a stage to be fun. Just have a solid AND dynamically changing idea.

And I still like my decision of making custom posters that explain the gimmicks and locations in a clear way and also tie in with the goofy nature of this game. (Mainly the Baldi’s obstacle course, he would 100% do that in the original game if he could. 7v7)

And I think that’s written in the SRB2 level designing handbook itself, but rings aren’t just health pick-ups or coins, but they should mainly work as a guide, especially in these more open 3D enviroments. And I’m happy that I managed to succesfully pull this off! (And the farm field-trip is the most extreme example of this rule in this whole stage. :D)

And I bet that this stage would be just plain boring If I didn’t add like 50 class and faculty only rooms to this stage. The very nature of BB’s (Especially PLUS with it’s randomly generated floors) is based around exploration, and sonic already has that element build in it’s formula, so this might be the reason why it’s so fun to just look around the schoolhouse instead of just rushing through it. (I didn’t realize the fact that I’m actually including a part of BB’s gameplay formula into this stage until you unintentionally pointed this out to me. xD)

Either way, thanks for the support! And expect more really cool updates in the future! C:<

hello thread viewers, welcome to my shitty opinions
so, i dont have a good vibe with mazes
like, at ALL
but out of all the mazes i played, i hated this one the least
PROS:
-its a baldi inspired mod
-designed like an actual srb2 level
-something i would actually play in my free time
CONS:
-its a maze
-the map (or at least, the part i explored) was a bit small
overall, 3 pizza slices out of 5
Aquavine
Aquavine
It’s my honor to receive 3 out of 5 pizza slices...

So I don’t really have a lot to say about this review, but I’m happy that you somehow found this stage actually fun even though it’s build like a maze. Maybe it’s because of the varied enviroments that are also a bit larger than regular 1x1 hallways. -.-

And what do you exactly mean by ”or at least, the part I explored” Does that mean that you just rushed through this stage with barely any exploration, or did you just gave up halfway through the stage. xD Because in that case, you kinda missed out on areas that are actually large and not so compact like maybe the first parts of the stage.

And I feel that corridors are mainly this, a simple pathway that leads you to a larger area. Corridors are very rarely the main focus of the area/gimmick, they are mostly here to connect bigger areas to each other. (And we don’t talk about the farm field-trip... Okay, It’s just me being accurate to the source material. >:C)

I say that I ”don’t have a lot to say about this review” yet I still ended up with 3 whole paragraphs of text. •-•

(Idl if this review will be the easiest to understand and its kinda long so uh sry about that, i would probablybe ablr to change it if there was a way to edit reviews :p)As someone who was really really into balding at the time I really like to see this in srb2, tho I think it could get some changes that will make this better. First the map is way too big and maze like, which I think with faster characters wouldn't be that bad but with there not being that much times when the music changes it kinda drags (i played this with the jerma mod whcih really fits the baldi style tho he's not really that fast, and with him not bring able to roll i got locked near the end when you had to roll under stuff, tho ig since he is a joke character you don'trelaly have to really fix this and is why I'm having () over all of this, but like maybe thwre could be an optional button to open those?) For actual recommendations i think it be cool if the enemies were to be from baldi, tho I imagine that would be hard if you really wanna add custom functions and not just make them look different, and i imagine it would limit the amount of enemy placements otherwise it be weird to see a bunch of bullys. And i think it also be cool if there was another map in this that was straight out of the game as a hangout map sorta, but that could take time if you wanna get really accurate, but i think it could work either way. Overall it's a good mod and it does well with what it sets out to do

(You can kinda ”edit” reviews, I guess, just copy the whole review and maybe paste it into notepad for safety. Delete your review, add the changes to your new reviews and just re-post it with new changes. Or just re-review it by pressing the review/rate button again and paste your new review into the text box. :>)

For the lenght, I tried to add as much BB’s content in this stage as I possibly could, which of course made it quite long, but even with someone like Amy this stage can pretty much be beaten with like 6-7 minutes on a clock, which is kinda crazy because 6:30 is the requirement for the time emblem...

And for the music tracks! I have plans for it, I’ll try to make music for (which will just be short but smartly looped tracks) the field trip parts with me trying to make them musically themed, like using rural instruments for the farm. (More info in the 1.1 changelog btw.) And I’ll maybe edit the already existing tracks, like a third time already...

I already added a red force-spin booster near the spin sections, all you just have to do is just strafe left or right so you’ll be able to spin under those, and I even added a weaker one on the other side for backtracking purposes! So remember that the next time you play! (I’m inclusive and I try my hardest to make this stage beatable with any no-spin characters. :D)

I don’t think the badniks would be a really good idea anyway... Do you really want to cannon ball yourself towards an already bald math teacher in (probably) his 30’s? I sure don’t wanna... I think it would also just feel kinda forced... I just don’t see enough reasons to do that.

It already exists! I think it was simply named ”Baldi’s Schoolhouse” by Moonshine. (If I remember the name correctly) and it’s also available on SRB2MB! it’s a hangout map and has the school itself, the camping field trip and a ”31718” secret map too! (For some odd reason...)
