Welcome to Emerald Coast!

What you see, is what you get! Just another remake of Emerald coast for SRB2!

But this time with a small twist. It's remade with stage accuracy in mind which means that I painstakingly had to recreate every section in this stage with the highest level of accuracy I could reach. And with that comes scale accuracy, and this makes for a pretty wide stage which makes it a good pick for some high speed action! And as of lately I decided to add some quality of life improvements which make this stage the best it can be! (With some more updates coming soon!!!)

Beyond the stage itself, this addon contains custom save data with custom unlockables, custom record attack menu, 3 R.A emblems (time, rings and score) a single unlockable "stage", custom made sprites, custom title screen, a small cameo with much more to be added and so much more features that I probably forgot to mention!
(And it also contains a lot of love and passion! :3)

THE GALLERY
A bunch of rad screenshots that fully showcase most of the biggest and most breath-taking locations this remake has to offer!

And to avoid confusion, these aren't actually split for two in-game acts. I just realised that SA1 stages have a mid-stage style shift that are really simillar to how acts in Sonic 3 and onwards work. Different act, different music, different stage vibe BUT the same overall stage theme. So for clearance I use the term act 1-2 to tell apart these two parts of this stage. :> But the stage has the same overall progression like in the original, just a single huge act with style shifts.

CREDITS OR USED ASSETS
Shadowth117 from T.T.R for ripping the terrain textures from SADX
OSA413 from T.M.R for ripping the E.C model which was used as reference. (And I yoinked some textures from it too.)
@El-fire for creating the adventure styled palmtree sprites and being an extremely cool guy for supporting me throughout the many downs and being the cause of many victorious ups while I working on this stage.
(He's da goat, fr fr. He deserves that 25K downloads. :threat:)

ENDING NOTE

Even though this stage looks pretty finished, It still lacks some features like a working capsule, some audio & visual flair, and overall speaking I want to polish up some aspects of this stage to REALLY make it the best that it can be. So If you're interested in this addon, then remember to look out for some small updates, like this one for example! This page got a complete rewrite from the ground up to address some new features and to fit my new page-writing style!
(And due to school this stage will have pretty huge time gaps between updates, for example the build that you can see in the gallery, is the W.I.P 1.3 version that I don't have enough time to release at a polished rate and in a reasonable time span. :C So as of now the most recent version is 1.2)

Yah! :D If I break up with school first, it's really toxic and narcissistic, It always wants all my time and attention and I get nothing for doing that! Best to stay away from people like these. >:C (The most complicated way of saying "if I have enough of free time after school-days.") I'm not sure what I'm even yapping about at this point. :<

I like this Emerald Coast!

Really good and surprisingly faithful to the original level.
I do have a couple of problems, the starting area in Act 2 feels very tight and compact and it's a little bit too slopey. Then again, I'm saying this as somebody who primarily plays Spice Runners.
Some parts also feel a little bit more janky and not as satisfying as the original, but I can let that slide considering this is SRB2.
Otherwise it just works.

About that first area, I realized too late that its too small for comfort and I couldn’t fix it in any easy way because of vertex slopes, on the other note I’m happy that you enjoyed this stage.

Srb2 thicc emerald coast, nothing wrong with it.

It's great! Very similar to the other Emerald Coast mod going around right now, but the level architecture is more spaced out so faster characters aren't constantly overshooting their marks. It's beautiful and spacious, perfect for a day at the beach!

Finally someone gets it!

Alright but feels redundant especially when a much better remake already exists

It's okay, but theres better improvement. the level is kinda wide open than the original

really great port, despite the issues. just don't act like it's flawless.
it's poorly optimized, and could use some custom objects to make the sequences better and the enemies more engaging/balanced.
i'm also surprised nobody's tried saturn-retexturing emerald coast when doing this sorta thing to make srb2 the actual saturn sa1 every youtuber who's never played past arid canyon act 1 wants the game to be. ah well, less critique there and more wishful thinking
also, don't spite the other port.
they're different scales, and that makes this one much better for playing like it's actually sa1. the other one isn't bad just because it plays more like an srb2 level actually would.
i really like playing like it's actually sa1, though! that's the thing, i can't be too critical of something i enjoyed this much. that's why i've gotta give this 4 stars at the end of the day, thanks for taking the time out of your day to make this.

Really not as accurate as the description would leave you to believe.
I'll talk about most of the issues and inaccuracies in my post in the discussion tab.

Not to mention the fact certain sequences don't work most of the time and how inconvenient it is to have to use the level select. (Which, not everyone has unlocked)

I also had major frame-drops when looking in a specific direction.

Just play the other Emerald Hill port.
