Here's a small content update with a batch of bugfixes. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the current super form implementations, so I've upgraded them a bit: all vanilla characters may reuse their abilities in the air while super. (this does not apply to the lite version)

Corrected the following issues:
  • Fixed the lite version's steam jets not giving you enough height
  • Fixed Milne getting glued to the floor after using her lance attack
  • Fixed the Tails Doll being unable to jump
  • Fixed Amy's spiral hammer interaction with water slides
  • Fixed a few minor bugs with the Super Sonic float
  • Fixed multiple ChrispyChars bugs
    • Pointy won't dissolve in the lite version now
    • Companion super works again
    • Super Pointy no longer stutters into peelout animation on the ground
  • Fixed a console error occuring if the player's map spawn shared coordinates with a spring-type object
Corrected the following issues:
  • Fixed a bug where Tails could phantom spin
  • Added missing flag to Fang's super corks
  • Prevented a possible infinite loop
Also added thorn.soc which makes the Thorn Shield appear in vanilla. You can find it attached in the discussion tab.
This changelog is going to be large, and I'll probably forget some things. If you're curious about the actual mod content, see the OP as this will only be listing changes since v1.

Firstly, this mod requires at least version 2.2.9. Go get that if you haven't.

Secondly, this mod now comes in two flavors. The full pk3 version, and a physics standalone lua script aka the "lite" version. The lite version contains only physics changes and is meant to be a lightweight, less intrusive alternative.

New features:
  • No speed loss while rolling.
  • Custom characters are properly supported. Stat and jump height increases will automatically apply to them, and slope launch issues should no longer be present provided the character is not directly setting z on the ground (the vast majority do not).
  • Dynamic gravity - stronger global gravity which adjusts its strength depending on how quickly you're rising or falling. Automatically disabled when interacting with certain level gimmicks and shouldn't cause any issues in 99% of maps.
  • Base top speed is quite a bit faster. Vanilla characters have unique stats again.
  • Tails and Amy have had moveset reworks. See their entries in the OP for details.
  • Attack button is used for super transformations on air, land, or even with a shield in the full version.
    • The "got them all" message still tells you to use jump+spin, but this cannot be changed in the current version of SRB2.
  • Elemental Shield has a new ability - Elemental Rise. You'll rocket upwards for a short time before detonating in a fiery explosion. It has different visual effects underwater as well.
  • Shield passives have been buffed:
    • Force Shield prevents knockback when taking damage
    • Elemental Shield spawns fire when running in addition to rolling
    • Whirlwind Shield blocks non-elemental projectiles
    • Thorn Shield blocks and damages non-elemental enemies which make direct contact
  • Bugfixes and minor tweaks.

Adjusted features:
  • Air control should be a bit smoother.
  • Slope launches aren't quite as ridiculous thanks to the new gravity.
  • Metal Sonic's burnout state no longer impairs your jump or accelstart.
  • Tailsbot now actually uses the new Tails ability. However, the bot can only use the initial flight launch and not the extra actions.
  • Amy jumps higher than the rest of the cast again.
  • Fang's moveset was streamlined. The slightly buggy hack to allow shield ability-type inputs during bouncing was removed, taking the out of place teleport with it. While he can no longer use shield actives, his bounce was buffed to compensate.
  • Super Fang's corks are flashier.
  • The altered dashmode for custom characters has been improved and now actually works correctly.
  • Knuckles climbs 20% faster.
  • Comet Dash has a new trail effect.
  • Attraction Shield ability uses vanilla chaining behavior.
