Kaldrum's 3D Models

Kaldrum's 3D Models v4.0 - it's-a-him!

It's been a while! I really thought I'd be getting this out sooner (though definitely glad I split the update in two), but here it is! Finally!

I present to you all:

poster.png

Let's-a-go!
You've seen him, you know he's here, it's a him,

MARIO!

TOADSTOOL/BLUEFLOWER

With full support for Super Mario Bros.' Mario, he's finally here!
Equipped with a hammer and his many powerups, there's no badnik (or koopa) he can't stomp!

And his wonderful brother,
luigiportrait.png

LUIGI

SHELL/DIRE

Ready for anything, Luigi's gonna show everyone who's number one now!

We're not done though...

You know Jeck Jim's Wario?
I really liked the idea of being able to swap out the bros for another character, after all, who wants to play as Mario in a Mario game, much less a Sonic game.
I may have gone a bit overboard...

anyways, here's Princess
peachportrait.png

peach.png

recommended colors: ROSY/RASPBERRY

The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom is here, and decided it was as good a day as any to fill in for Luigi!
Not only does she have a full model replacement for Luigi, she also comes with voicelines!

The aptly named file "V_LuigiToPeachVoice-v1.wad" when loaded will replace all of Luigi's regular voicelines with some of hers!
If you're in a netgame, make sure to use the addfile command to load them in after you join.

The princess of Sarasaland:

daisy.png

YELLOW/ORANGE

Hailing from the desert, Daisy's here, filling in for Mario! (he's sick) That's a long way to Greenflower...

Use the file "V_MarioToDaisyVoice-v1.wad" to get her to say hi!

And the lovely denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom, the
toadsportrait.png

toads.png

RED, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, PURPLE, ROSY /AETHER

Equipped with all of Mario's moves, Toad and Toadette, and a few of their friends, are ready for adventure!

Toad comes with three variants,
  • the BLUEVEST Toad, the 'main' Toad we know and love
  • the TOAD toad, vest and spots same color
  • KINOPIO-KUN, Kinopio-kun is a Toad with a green-colored mushroom cap similar to that of a 1-Up Mushroom and wearing a green vest, similar to the green, mustached Toads from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake. He is the mascot of Nintendo's LINE social media account. https://www.mariowiki.com/Kinopio-kun vest and cap the same color
  • and TOADETTE too!
Add the files
"V_MarioToToadVoice-v1.wad"
"V_MarioToToadetteVoice-v1.wad"
To hear Toad or Toadette's lovely voices!

All of them can also can replace the Mario Koopa Blast TOAD sprite!

And Mario's buddy T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas, better known as
yoshiportrait.png

YOSHI.png

GREEN/ORANGE; RED/BLUE; YELLOW/GREEN; SKY/PURPLE; BLUE/NEON; ORANGE/CYAN; PURPLE/ORANGE; WHITE/SKY; BLACK/WHITE

Yoshi's here, ready to throw eggs, or stomp some Egg-mans!

Yoshi can either fill in for Luigi to help out Mario and co, or he can alternatively stay in his own mod, Yoshi! Pick whichever one you like best!

If you want him to replace Luigi, add the file "V_LuigiToYoshiVoice-v1.wad", and make sure you take special care to adding his line.
The two versions are not compatible with each other, so if you add Yoshi's model to either and all the animations are bugged, take a look back at the install instructions.

And finally, the fearsome king of the Koopas!
bowserportrait.png

bowser.png

GREEN
*defaults to emerald, but emerald was changed in a patch so it doesn't fit as well as it used to. it looks mostly fine tho with this version of the model

Its showtime! He's here, and he's gonna show Mario how to really 'Robo Blast!' Full support for the Bowser addon!
He also works with the Mario Koopa Blast KOOP sprite! (it looks dumb!)

Kuribo's shoe, the Cape, Yoshi's egg, as well as the 3D World Ice skate which can replace the shoe, are also all modeled.
Fair warning, the cape looks bad, especially on the walk and stand sprites, on most characters besides Mario and Luigi. It was designed specifically around their proportions, which none of the other characters have.
Personally, I would just ignore this and pick your favorite!

8 whole characters!
That's like double the size of this pack previously! I've really put a lot of work into every one of these characters, and I really hope it shows.

If you run into any issues with the models, don't hesitate to let me know, I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

However, please don't ask me to make specific characters (especially Mario ones, now that I've done this). I have other models I'd like to get to next, (likely after a break) and you likely will not like my answer to any of your requests.

I'd like to give special thanks to @SMS Alfredo , who took the time to walk me through the process of making the voice packs! Thank you so much, I probably wouldn't have done all of this without your help!
(also thanks for making Mario and Yoshi)

I'd also like to thank JatDaGamer on the SRB2 discord for lending me his Toad and Toadette sprites! They look very nice and I'm very glad you let me use them. If Toad is ever made into a full mod, I'll be the first to make a model for him!

Thank you also to the SRB2 discord for putting up for 6 months of me Mario posting! I hope if you saw these there you enjoy the final product!

full install instructions are in the install instructions.txt file, please read it carefully!

That's pretty much all for Mario, I hope you enjoy these models as much as I did making them!
Thank you!

Wow...

1706430780056.png

Anyways, I did some other things besides just make Mario stuff between the last update and now.
You may notice this new folder called KLDRCS when you go to download. This is a new thing I'm trying out for every model in the KLDR folder, (not the bonus ones, sorry).
In your models.dat, if you replace the KLDR part of a line with KLDRCS, you can mess with my new cel shaded variants!
1706418100029.png

They look kinda lame on their own though. The real magic happens when you turn on ambient lighting(!):
1706418148717.png

Now you have Sonic the Fighters-esque shading, with dynamic-ish lighting!
basically, what if ambient lighting was cool!
Not all the models look super great with this, (I do still prefer my gradients) but its definitely a nice change of pace! Give it a try!
Every model in the main KLDR folder will continue to have a variant like this until I say otherwise. It's not really the intended experience, so I cant guarantee they'll look super great (I will try tho), but hopefully some people find it interesting.
These models are slightly more intensive than the normal ones due to the way that I have to make them to achieve this effect, so if you're having issues running these, maybe just use the normal ones. It's also included as a separate download due to the much larger filesizes.

In general, I also touched up the main characters a bit. Fang has probably the most notable changes, but even then, probably not that many. Or who knows I've been working on this a while
One notable thing though is that all of the characters milne dance anims have received a remake.
Also, Ova Knux has actual models for the alternate texture now, to make switching them easier, like blue shoes Tails. Fleetway Amy also has an alt texture now.

Other than that, that's pretty much everything. I really really hope you enjoy the Mario stuff, but if you don't care about that, I understand, this is a Sonic game after all. Next major update will be Sonic stuff, but I cant really promise when, and I won't say what. For now tho I hope you enjoy my models!

ALSO, the Mario voice packs don't have Persona support. If you want to add extra lines for any of the characters to support it, I would greatly appreciate it. I may do it eventually, but if you go ahead and do it I will gladly update the packs with your contributions. Same thing goes for skincolors for the Mario skins.
If you make some that look good, and make the default secondcolor fit with the character, I would gladly include them in the pack!

Thank you for downloading!
It's been awhile! (also please temper your expectations)

I originally planned to have a far more substantial update by the end of the summer, but I just didn't quite have the time to finish it. I decided I'd save the new stuff for later and split what I have into two parts. This is the first part, or the cool mod compatibility stuff, character revamps and reanimations, and all-around polish. With that, lets get started!

First off, Sonic!
My second oldest model was in need of some fixes and some updates. Most desperately, a
SUPER REVAMP!
srb20253.png

Not only have Super Sonic's quills been remade to look better than ever, he also has all new animations! A lot, in fact; now nearly every single one is different than regular Sonic, and places where super animations were previously missing now have one! See for yourself!
Super Sonic, the character, has also been updated with this.

Hesse Sonic!
hesse.png

A previously lacking bonus character now has far better animations, new shading, and an outline! Full compatibility for the latest version of the mod.

Boom Sonic's Bandages-compatible model has also received some minor animation updates.

Next up, METAL SONIC!
metal.png

Similarly to Sonic, my oldest model, Metal, was desperately in need of an update, which took the form of a complete revamp!
All new animations!
Cleaner Geometry!
Better Texturing and UV Mapping!
He's looking better than ever! (though i likely will never find peace with this model)

Those are the big ones, but this update still has a lot more to offer!

Brand new jumpballs and spindashes for all characters!
spin.png

XMomentum Trick Frames!
tailstrick.png
amytrick.png
fangtrick.png

Brand new bonus poses for continue animations! (These are used on a few servers to give the player a playable state with the continue animation. I've made bonus animations [different from the continue animations] to take advantage of the frames.)
knuxcont.png

And more!
Including support for...
  • Skid Animations (coming in 2.2.14)
  • Rphys
  • Speedway Chars
  • All Hugs
  • Knuckles Peelout
  • Amy Peelout
Furthermore, if you haven't noticed already (hopefully you have), every vanilla character has had multiple changes and cleanups to their models to make them more polished, whether it be different proportions, completely remade and reanimated tails (!), quill cleanups, rounding out eye shapes, many, many reanimations, and more. Its been a long 3 months, I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly how much has changed within then. I can say for sure, though, the characters are all at least somewhat to drastically better looking than previous versions (personally).

(also spectator eggrobo is fixed he was messed up i think)

newlineup.png

I wanna take this penultimate section just to thank everyone for the support over this last year (and a month) I am genuinely blown away by the amount of traction this stupid project has gathered since I decided one day to open up blender and make a Metal Sonic model for this game. Seeing something you made liked by anyone is an great feeling, and to have this many people that genuinely seem to enjoy this project of mine makes me incredibly happy! I could not be here, and likely would not continue to work on this (at least to this extent), without the support of everyone that's downloaded, commented, critiqued, complemented, and seen my model pack, whether you're on the MB, the community discord, or in a netgame. Thank you all for sticking with me!

buddies.png

lmao besides being green he looks so weird i wonder if ill feel the same way about the new guy next year

As mentioned in the title, this is part one of the stuff I did this summer. This update is fairly light (didn't feel like that making it tho lol), and that's because there's a ton of other stuff I worked on as well! People in the discord are possibly aware of this, but I've completed numerous other models for two separate projects: one of which is the second part of this update, with 5 out of 6 (potentially more) characters already made, and 4 of which fully animated. The other thing is a big SRB2Kart project, which I'm going to focus more on after the second part of this update, but should hopefully be worth the wait. With that, all I have left is to leave with you with this teaser.
hat.png

More to come! Thank you for downloading!
Kept you waiting, huh.

Sorry for the incredibly long wait for this update, though hopefully the contents make up for it!

finally...

FANG!!!

EGGMAN!!!

eggrobo!

Not only that, but all of these characters have bosses and playables!

With that, EVERY BOSS FIGHT besides the final has been fully modeled in this pack, and the full vanilla cast is playable!

Eggpack and Eggrobo are also fully playable!
playable is a strong word for eggrobo

Other additions include a 3D model for Bandages and Tyson Hesse Sonic! (both are just using the Sonic model as is, don't expect anything crazy)

General improvements to all models, in animations, geometry, and textures! I did so much over these last however many months that I probably don't even remember all the changes! See for yourself!

Milne dance support (finally)!

Usual xmom, battlemod, and halfpipe utilities support for new characters when applicable.

Castle Eggman statues! (so cool)

As always, full instructions, with all the new additions, in the install instructions, and bonus.txt.
If you're on mobile, check out the fake models.dat for details on how to install!

Im super tired and ill update the page for real later, for now though have a high effort render showing off the characters!!!

Thank you for downloading!!!

I present to you all, the Big Bonus Bunch!
bonus.png

Hopefully to become a recurring feature of this model pack, this update contains alternate skins of all the models currently included in the pack! They are almost fully compatible with anything the main models are, with a few slight exceptions.

This first pack includes:

Bandageless Boom Sonic!
Save the planet from disaster!
Sonic's notorious scarf from the Sonic Boom series, minus the excessive sports tape!
Full replacements for every previously included (solo) Sonic model other than Super Sonic.

Bandageless Boom Tails!
Two Tails and Four Eyes
Tail's (probably less notorious) getup from the Sonic Boom series, sporting a pair of goggles, belt, and new gloves! Also sans sports tape.
Replacements for all (solo) Tails models (blue shoes variants included).

Ova Knuckles!
Made with 100% Non-Flammable materials.
Knuckles' stylish hat originating from the Sonic OVA! This one's safe to carry around Red Volcano...
Replacements for all Knuckles models. Comes with an alternate shoe texture to match the actual OVA shoes.

Fleetway Amy!
Crossbow not included.
(One of) Amy's iconic designs originating from Fleetway's Sonic the Comic! With purple hi-tops, a green skirt, and an oversized heart t-shirt.
Replacements for all (solo) Amy (and Rosy) models.

Metal Sonic 3.0!
Welcome to the Next Level
Eggman Nega's finest creation, looking less like Sonic than ever! Featuring cool decals on the head, hands, and shoes.
Replacements for player and boss Metal Sonic, as well a model specifically for the Metal Sonic 3.0 mod.
This includes a blend file. If you don't want him to turn blue as vanilla Metal Sonic or during the boss, make sure you rename or delete the file. This will probably make any game that includes multiple people as Metal look weird though.

Thank you for downloading! Hope you enjoy messing around with these bonus models! I recommend mixing them around different mods to better differentiate them. Instructions for their use is included in a new text file, bonus.txt. Make sure the KDBONUS folder and KLDR folder are in the same place (SRB2 v2.2/models/ on windows).

There's a few other (less interesting) things in this update as well...

I lied about that Metal update being the last time I'd fix the character's UVs.

Redone all character UVs in some capacity, also extended gradients and blend textures for smoother color blending, should make the models look significantly to minorly better. All jumpballs look better now too.

Also, the Max Control Pack's BURN and ELED objects do not have a bonus character replacement. The various possible combinations in how the models can be set up mean that the player should have to do it in some capacity to fit their setup. There will not be a variant other than for the vanilla models until I can figure out an intuitive way to accomplish this. Sorry when MCPack Fleetway Amy's dress suddenly changes, just don't die in fire I guess:worry:.

Sonic:
Added Boom Sonic.
Completely new walk animation.
Added a fourth frame to Super Sonic's idle (sorry about that)
Added a NiGHTS altar model. (NDRN)

Tails:
Added Boom Tails.
Completely new run animation, should be less busy.
Better flight spin effect texture.

Knuckles:
Added OVA Knuckles.
Reworked a lot of facial expressions.
Cleaned up various animations, such as gliding.

Amy:
Added Fleetway Amy.
Fixed various errors regarding the headband.

Metal:
Added Metal Sonic 3.0.
Slight modifications to model geometry.

Thank you again for downloading! Enjoy!
Happy new year, Amy is here!
amypose.png

To hammer in the new year, Amy is finally ready for release! She comes with both a playable model and separate NPC model, as well as standard support for XMomentum and the Max Control Pack! She additionally has support for the hug mod!

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Metal have also all received various updates, all of which include a literal facelift.

Full Changelog:

Added Amy. Rosy, MCAmy, XMomentum, and Hug support.

Sonic has had various aspects of his face modified, most notably his eyes and eyebrows. He also has gotten a redone walk, and finally has the Alt Sonic normal laugh. no sans! Super Sonic has been updated to reflect these changes.

Tails has received forehead reduction surgery. His tails are also a bit wider. The smear texture used in the flight and run animations has also been changed.

Knuckles has gotten his run and walk redone, and his dreads have been modified in almost every animation. He's also 20% more expressive!

Metal has had his head modified slightly, the back of his head is slightly more curved and less triangular than before. His eyes have also been slightly redone.

IMPORTANT!!!
Also mentioned in the install instructions, but any file with a "H" prefix has been renamed. Make sure you update your models.dat accordingly.

Thank you for using my models! I really appreciate all the support this has received so far! More to come!

srb20145.gif

also sorry for the reupload amy's headband was missing on some textures should be fixed now
Knock knock, its Hesse Knuckles!
srb20143.png

Knuckles, as usual, has full XMomentum and Halfpipe Utilities support. He also includes battlemod support!
But that's not all in this update...

Sonic has had a variety of animations redone, including his run, dash, and more. The peelout now looks completely different!
He also has partial support for Alt Sonic!
Finally, his textures have been updated.
Super Sonic has been updated to reflect these changes.

Metal Sonic has received another texture overhaul (hopefully for the last time)
There are also now models for the various effects he has in XMomentum. As well as that, he now has an animation for the XMomentum spin charge. Hopefully that'll look less weird than before.

Tails has also received battlemod support! If you're using the blue shoes variant, there's an animation that supports that as well!
He also has had a few messed up animations fixed, as well as an edit to his spin animation.

This update took me a while, I hope you all enjoy playing with the characters! More to come!
Metal Sonic texture overhaul! Greatly improved the metallic texture, and fixed multiple places where shading looked inconsistent.

metalsonic.png

Small tweaks to a few Sonic animations.

Also, my other mod, Halfpipe Utilities is now supported! All existing (and future) characters now include a wallrunning animation. That's all for now, next update might be a little rougher than the rest of them, be warned.

btw, special thanks to @fznmeatpopsicle and the other authors of the blender md3 export addon, it really makes modifying models way easier and faster! It's greatly appreciated!

update title
Hesse Tails is here! Tails has full support for XMomentum and the Max Control pack, including a blue shoes variant. Installation instructions have been updated.

srb20071.png

Both Sonic and Metal have had their spindash redone. Make sure when you install, you replace everything. Almost every file has had some minor tweaks of some kind.

Thanks for using my models!
XMomentum, MCSonic, and Super Sonic support!

srb20050.png

Sonic now has full support for the Max Control Pack, as well as support for the Paper Peelout and Dropdash.

Both Sonic and Metal Sonic have XMomentum support.

Super Sonic! The standalone Super Sonic character is also now supported, however, likely due to something with the mod itself, does not properly support interpolation.

Installation instructions have been updated to explain the new models.

Enjoy!

(sorry to anyone that downloaded this earlier, I realized I didn't like Sonic's texturing so I redid it)
Updated Sonic's UVs to fix shading issues with quills.
