What better way to kick off 2.2 than to shove some anime bosses into it?

This is Anastasia, from Fate / Grand Order, here to make your life slightly tougher. A few attacks and tricks in her arsenal, you'll need to get good at rapid dodging to stand a chance.

I'll try to fix any bugs that pop out. Enjoy!

Music used: A Collision of Death from Megadimension Neptunia VIIR
Sound effects used: Various SFX and voice lines from Fate / Grand Order

v2.1 : changed map number

What a cool boss! Hahaha! Get it? Because she's ice and.... ah forget it.

Welcome to release!

Wait, shoot, wrong character.

I actually liked this battle. It's tough, I only got through via multiplayer's "the boss doesn't reset when you die" thing, so I doubt I'm good enough to beat it in one shot. I may be easier with Fang or Sonic though, to thok around the shield or shoot her when she's open. (Metal is my favorite character in the Sonic series so I'm a bit stubborn about playing him).

Also, that rendition of her noble phantasm leading into phase two caught me off guard.

I love it.

Also this may just be me, but the boss also reminded me a bit of Ice Queen La Saia from Dark Cloud. Which not only excites me cause I loved that game, but also fills me with dread because that boss was a wall for me back when I was younger.

idiot fights gacha girl at 1AM

This was a really fun and surprisingly difficult fight. With only roughly 3 attacks and a persistent shield, you managed to keep it engaging throughout it all. My only (very slight) disappointment was that despite the arena being sloped there was no application of them to the fight, though I suppose such a thing would only be fun for characters who can spin anyway.

While I didn't encounter anything seeming like a major bug, you can definitely get trapped by her shield + tornado in the second phase if you're unlucky enough. Fortunately it doesn't seem common as I wasn't able to replicate again after it happening once (for reference, I fought her as everyone except for Amy).

Fang's pop gun goes right through her shield too, though I'm not sure if this is intentional or not.

Unrelated to the mechanics of the fight itself, I was really impressed by the transition to the 2nd phase. It's also appreciated that it gets skipped on replays without restarting the game. I hope you continue to make bosses, I'd be excited to see what else you have in store!

Darn did I miss those from you!

Overall a great boss that did kill me a few times and becomes very enjoyable once you start understanding the simple timing based patterns. While I actually haven't even touched Fate once (I should probably get to it one day), I found the cutscene when changing phases to be a cute neat touch!
I suppose my only personal hiccup is that I still don't understand how I'm meant to counterattack after she uses her tornado attack or if I'm supposed to just wait it out until she uses something else.

As far as ""technical issues"" go, it's possible to get kind of stuck inside her shield and get a few cheap hits, or jump above the shield by using the slope (though this seems intentional), and Fang seems to completely ignore said shield when shooting, allowing him to cheese most of the challenge.
Finally, the cutscene when transitionning to her second phase doesn't display properly on non-green resolutions but it's not that big of a deal.

....And now I won't be able to sleep properly until I complete a no hit run of this.

Yeah, I'm aware of the jankiness of the shield when it comes to checking for collision. Sadly, I haven't figured out a safe way to prevent getting stuck without launching the player at extremely high speeds. Had to nerf the whirlwind three times as a result of that, so you can escape its pull by simply walking out but even then, I'm not satisfied with it.

Fang shooting through the shield is absolutely intentional though. It even plays a critical hit sound effect when you do so!

Glad y'all enjoyed the rest of the stuff.

This mod doesn't seem to play nicely when paired with others. I've tried character mods. but more often then not the boss disappears after the first hit along with the health bar

There's a certain bug with damage based lua code being applied to all objects. It's a bug in the source, but hopefully a patch will come by 2.2.1.

Anyway, wad updated, simply reducing the power of her tornado and her overall health. Also, based on the bug that's related to other addons, added a special interaction with Flicky...

This being anime, I was getting ready for bullet hell and a few lives wasted on trial&error, but it was alot more pleasant and reactable than that thankfully!

I did get an error, but I was able to finish the boss off as normal despite that. "LUA_GAME:655: attempt to index local 'target' (a function value)"

Used the most recent version.

yoooooo, didn't know this was a thing!
i really liked this boss, it's fun to fight with a lot of characters (especially Fang)
