DOLPHIN DIVE
Press jump in midair to dash forwards and downwards towards the ground. If you hold the jump button, you'll bounce right back up again! You can combo several Dolphin Dives together, gaining more speed and height with each bounce.
Don't hold jump when landing to instead start sliding on the ground. While in this state, you can press the spin button to perform a Twirl Hop, which will increase your speed slightly.
SLIME TAIL
Press spin to perform a circular tail swipe attack, which will leave a trail of slime around you on the ground. This slime can damage enemies and break spikes, even when it's stationary. If you keep holding spin after performing this move, Veph will start charging up Super Slime Tail! Release spin to blast off either upwards or forwards, depending on if you're holding a direction or not.
WATER DRIVE
Press jump during Slime Tail to cancel it and propel yourself forward in a jet of water! You can only perform this move in midair once. Use it to bridge larger distances, or to get a running start on your speed!
WATER AFFINITY
With the element of water on his side, Veph retains full movement capabilities when underwater. He also can't drown either, but don't expect that to ring true in space.
SWIMMING
If he wasn't strong enough underwater already, Veph is also capable of swimming. Double tap either jump or spin, or simply continue holding jump when entering water in the Dolphin Dive state to start swimming. The controls are a bit different when in this state, holding in a direction will merely turn you. To swim forward in the direction you're inputting, hold down jump.
You can also press spin to perform a Twirl Attack. Holding down spin will slow you down as well, making the spin button ideal for tighter spaces. Double tap it to stop swimming all together.
Veph also has support for BattleMod! When it's added, his abilities will be altered and weakened to account for the mode. Slime Tail in particular now sends slime flying in only one direction. But as an upside, enemy players will progressively lose defense points as they get covered in slime!
SUPER BUBBLE
Veph's signature ability in BattleMod is a giant bubble that slowly moves forwards and bounces off walls. If any enemy players come into contact with it, it explodes, knocking them backwards with an extra defense debuff!
Touching the bubble yourself while falling allows you to bounce off of it. See if you can use this to access important areas in a pinch! Or even just give your teammates a boost, as they can use it as well.
As with Piroli, Veph gets his own set of unique jingles that play in place of the usual ones. Specifically, 1up, Act Clear, Invincibility, and Speed Shoes all have their own unique remixes! You can turn this off with the vephmusic command.
The vephinvert command and its player 2 counterpart also exists for those that would prefer up and down while swimming to be inverted.
If you're experiencing lag, the vephsplat and vephgoopcap commands can be used to remove Veph's splat effects and how much slime each player can have active, respectively.
However, as the former command does not solve a Lua corruption bug exclusive to Linux, a pk3 without splat effects has been provided as a download.
Finally, you can turn the vephfun command off to disable Veph's underwater advantages in any competitive gametype. He still seems to refuse to drown underwater though.
