Booming from another universe, Bandages swings in!

Straight from the erm, critically acclaimed/panned series, comes Sonic Boom's dude in blue, nicknamed after his apparent addiction to sportstape, Bandages!
Those who know me for... way too long, know that this is, indeed, not the first time I attempted to make this guy. But hey, third time's the charm! And he doesn't just feature a brand new paintjob, but a whole new kit to play with!

The standard double jump, with a slight cut to momentum if you're going too fast. Nothing too crazy at face value, but is augmented by his other abilities that we'll discuss further on - you'll be glad to have this!

Here it is, the one thing you wish Rise Of Lyric let you do - use the Enerbeam to swing over, under and around any badnik, monitor, spring or level geometry to your heart's content! Press and hold spin in the air to either attach to the nearest object, or shoot it diagonally upwards. If connected, you'll swing forwards! Time it right for the best results.

You're able to use it up to twice on walls or ceilings, but you can use it as many times as you wish on objects - attaching to one of these refreshes one more use on walls. You'll know you're out of uses due to the afterimages disappearing!

Finally, press Jump while attached to an object to home into it. Use it for combat or for accurately bouncing on a spring!

To help keep the flow going, Bandages is able to charge a spindash at any moment while grounded, similar to how Fire & Ice's spindash works. It's slightly slower than your standard spindash, but it compensates with its charge speed. You can also use it to tokyo drift on tight corners or quickly turn and keep your speed!

The one and only, hailing from Sonic Battle, Bandages uses those long legs for something other than running! You will automatically kick any enemies you come into contact with while jumping, and you can also you use this to kick down walls that can otherwise only be knocked down by the buffest of echidnas.

Size:  802 BytesNetgame Grapple Points & Known Issues
Due to how laggy and desyncing the enerbeam is, we had to come to a compromise for the best online experience possible.
In netgames, grapple points appear where badniks first spawn. This way, you can still somewhat use their positions to swing around without actually attaching to them. Since it also has to do with the homing attack, that's disabled too. We highly reccomend you keep this on, as it is by default to prevent massive desyncing and lag.

If you're playing with just a friend or think you can put up with it, toggle it on or off with the command "enerbeampoint". Use this under your discretion.

But, if you want a synch free enviroment where you can swing around with your friends, we have the more extreme option of straight up removing badniks, with the magic command "badnikdeletus".

it's good to have bandages back... again.
seriously, this is an awesome addon.
but there are a few slight oversights.
- whenever bandages uses his enerbeam on a moving platform, the enerbeam won't go with it, making it stick to thin air.
the next one is pretty minimum, but i'll add it anyways.
- in pipe towers, with bandage's voice enabled, bandages can still say "dumb robots" or "eggman needs better minions" whenever he stomps a goomba.
but apart from that, all is good!

I had a lot of fun with this one.
But it seems Enerbeam is acting up sometimes. (What did I latch onto in the first gif? A random bubble?)
Also sometimes Enerbeam just randomly shuts off, resulting in me not swinging along the wall, but falling down on whatever is supposed to be below. And yes, I did hold the spin button. It seems to happen only when I'm hugging the wall.

I feel like the enerbeam has a good range in terms of how close a wall has to be to attach to it, but I do still have some gripes with it. I really wish the range was more clearly defined. I want to be able to tell whether or not I can safely enerbeam from a given point, but at the moment, it's largely guesswork.

I was also tossing around the idea of maybe making it cling on to walls to the side if there's none in range directly in front of you, but that would probably lead to accidentally clinging to the wrong wall, so it might not be a good idea.

Changes Required :
Hud Name = Boom Sonic
Real Name = Boom Sonic
ID Name = bandages
Primary Ability = Homing Thok Secondary Ability = Spindash

This is a neat character overall better than the source material, anyways and I only found one bug with bosses. When you latch onto Eggman with the Enerbeam after he gets hit, it will stay where he was hit until either you let go of Spin, or he shoots you.

you seriously want a generic homing attacker instead of this extremely fun moveset he has now? There are like 7 different mods on gamebanana with that exact moveset, you should go look there for that sorta thing.

okay but you can LITERALLY make this in twenty seconds yourself
just set sonic's abilities to homing thok and spindash in player.dta and you're good

that being said bandages as a character is great to play as, if a bit janky with his electric rope. i didn't find myself using it nearly as much as i thought i would, since i would often see myself being flung straight into the ground with how fast it goes. i do very much appreciate the adventure-style spindash and the double jump, though. always plusses in my book.
