I mean,he does have the spin drift and the atom dash to help with maintaining your speed
 
I have some problems with crystal sonic/alt sonic. He’s way too fast which is unnecessary when he already has dashmode. Alot of the new features are useless because it’s extremely difficult to maintain speed in the vanilla levels. It feels like it was designed around srb2 thicc honestly. I really like the springstate change thing makes springs alot better

Yes but Alt/Crystal is basically suppose to be a better vanilla sonic. Making him faster, a good dash mode, and the abilities work for him. If you guys think "He's too fast", that is all you. I have no problem with him what-so-ever. If you would like to though, try switching to legacy mode and try the homing attack instead.
 
To be honest, Alt/Crystal sonic DOES feel a bit faster than vanilla sonic, even when just running or accelerating into a run.

And to be fair

He definitely feels like one of those characters that require a bit of practice to get used to but is absolutely insane once you do get the hand of him

Like I mentioned before,his atom dash and spindrift help a lot with maintaining your speed

...Course your map of choice will also affect that but I don't think he needs much changing

That's the creator himself. Of course he would be able to play him good. Imagine not being being able to control your own character lmao. Vanilla sonic is already slippery enough. I dont mind dashmode. Just the fact that he accelerates too quickly

To be fair, any time I asked about reverting his stats to match that of a vanilla character the general consensus was no. I will say the higher acceleration does prove troublesome for highly precise platforming and I can understand why you wouldn't enjoy it.

speed is fine it's the acceleration

also i do want to mention while im not a fan of alt sonic nor crystal sonic i do enjoy how they actually have a different gameplay and mostly the fact alt sonic dont have the fucking homing thok anymore like bitch why the fuck any sonic clones have to use homing thok... at least this was changed

Explanation:
at one point when playing zaxelcoopmaps, I cleared a level as Hyper Crystal Sonic. Somehow, when the next map loaded, this effect was around sonic. It never went away, except when I closed the game, no matter what I did. I tried: turning hyper, then normal, doing fully charged atom dashes as hyper, doing fully charged atom dashes in normal form, getting and losing shields, exitlevel, objectplace, normally clearing a level, and possibly more.

There should be code in place to prevent this from happening...
I'll look into this as soon as possible, thanks for reporting on it.
 
i heard you could bind legacymode and atom dash, how do i do this?
The commands you execute through a .txt/.cfg file should look something like this:

alias lol2 "legacymode off; bind u lol" alias lol "legacymode on; bind u lol2" bind u lol

Within this instance, a toggle for the command is getting bound to the U Key. If you wanted it to be something else, just change the u to whatever you'd want.
