This certainly came out of nowhere - I wasn't expecting to see this lil guy again. Unfortunately I can't really say I like how he's handled here.

On the one hand, I found it very disappointing to see how most of the Easter Eggs I made back then were completely cut. Some, I understand, such as the Title Screen (which to be fair was rubbish lol, good call on not bringing it back), but others not so much. For example, it was pretty sad to see the Dog-goyles cut, as well as the many other graphics such as the bone cursor, the new credits images, the exit message, even the failsafe screen image was scrapped - not to mention plenty of backgrounds too.
I did smile at the fact that you did keep something - which was the intro cutscenes gag of having the annoying dog somewhere in there. Although, these are way less subtle than the old ones, and kinda feel... shoehorned in, I really don't like them.

On the other hand, as an actual character, I echo D00D's complaint about the Legendary Artifact being way too obnoxious to the eye. I do like that my shoddy jump thok was spruced up into a rather pretty particle showcase, but I'd tone it down to appear just when you use an ability, and not all the time. The new bounce ability isn't really helpful either, it really feels like it's there to avoid softlocks and nothing else. I think what you could do here is to allow Toby to bounce multiple times, and to be able to chain your abilities together.
Pretty cute detail to have his height lowered to fit through tiny gaps, though.

Finally... I've gotta say damn, this is definitely one of my roughest old characters that 100% needed at least a sprite revision. Not saying that was necessary of course, but it would have been nice to see these old sprites touched up a bit, similar to how the CSS was updated.

All in all... Man, I really think this needs some work. It's a functional port with new particles, but I feel like it removed plenty of the charm the old one had.

I suppose his kit is okay, but why does he have the red gem around him at all times? I can understand if he pulls it out for his Super form, but having it on at all times means the screen is flooded in cloggy VFX all the time. It's distracting at best and difficult to see around at worst. It feels like such a superfluous addition to the original.
