Honestly still one of the greatest mods ever and I was just talking about if Luigi was in the mod yesterday. Played both of them and they feel amazing with their own little twists. So full of Nostolgia. I just wish that I could use a bot for Luigi so I can have both of the bros playing. But due to Luigi's acceleration. Fox bot tends to break it. But right now, I'm going to test the bot ignore so that way he doesn't get hurt by NOT jumping on the badniks lol. Still a great mod. 5 Stars all the way.
Luigi included, 93830583059580348589058534098503485/10 (Okay but seriously though, This mod is VERY high quality. Mario even has voice lines and It has SRB2 PERSONA support and Luigi is included. This may be the most high quality mario mod IN GENERAL. Nothing can top this. 5/5
It's Mario, sporting a very similar moveset from all the main 3d Mario games. He plays very well and adds a whole new way of play to SRB2, and the newest update allows the toggling of powerups making him much more fair in multiplayer gamemodes such as ringslinger.
The only problem is the custom buttons and work you have to do to get the best control scheme set up for this character, while you could play with the two main buttons many of the more advanced and powerful acrobatics require the use of custom 1 and 2. I personally have to remap my right shoulder button to crouch/ground pound for the character to work best for me.
Besides that one issue, you got yourself a perfect character right here.
This mod is great, adding mario into the game and making him feel like he actually fits in it with his moves. He can even be customized a little bit and has his own options for you to choose from. The only thing I would possibly want from this is for dive to be able to be set to a specific button. It would be great for not needing to disable dives for bosses like metal sonic where it would get in the way and would make hammer a bit more of an option for mario to use when he is fighting because that is what hammer is used for, fighting. Other than that, this is an ideal mod to have on just because of how good it is while not being too op.
This is one of, if not the best, Mario mod for SRB2. His handling is accurate, the powerups are a nice touch, he has an amazing moveset, and also feels good to play, considering his track record. I will say one thing: His moves aren't really accurate to how they were in games like Super Mario 64. His Super theme is also pretty annoying to hear despite it's reference to SMBZ. Maybe add a Super theme option in the Mario Menu, and have four choices: The custom theme(default), the Superstar theme from Mario 64, the default SRB2 super theme, and no theme at all. The Chaos Emeralds in his run, though, NICE reference to Super Mario RPG if that's what it is. Do you plan on making more characters in this style? Like Luigi, Yoshi, maybe Peach? If not, I understand. If so, pretty cool.
Alright, I felt I should make another review about this mod since i felt i didn't exactly get my true feelings through last time. First off, I'll talk about the general "lack of flow", per se? Like, in Odyssey, after doing a dive you could cancel it into a roll and go from there. But here, there's not only no roll boost (which I can understand, it was meant to be used only like the normal roll in srb2, and that's fine), but you can't do that same dive cancel, either. Same thing goes for long jumps, in Odyssey you could go smoothly from a long jump to a roll by simply holding crouch (or i assume, at least) but here, you have to manually start rolling even if you DO hold crouch. And I appreciate that jumping on a normal enemy actually has Mario physically jump off of that enemy, but it just seems odd that the same thing doesn't happen with bosses or enemies that take multiple hits. Last but not least, i feel i should talk about the powerups, more specifically the Gold Flower and Ice flower, since you'll genuinely NEVER see them in the main campaign due to the level design having Mini Mushrooms and Metal caps instead. This isn't much of a problem most of the time, but there tends to be rings around sections where Mini Mushrooms are, due to them being Attraction Shield replacements. With that being said, this is still a pretty good mod.
A very good mod, one of my favorite characters to play as in SRB2.
He feels very much like Sandbox/Odyssey Mario with some touches from the 2D games. Odyssey Mario is honestly one of my favorite game characters to control, and SRB2 Mario definitely comes close. The power-ups are also very fun to use, but I do think some could benefit from a tutorial (like the Cape Feather).
My one big complaint about this mod that keeps it from being five stars is the dive. I really don't like it being mapped to the same button as attacking, it just makes things tedious, like when I try to hit a boss with my hammer but I accidentally end up diving. I think the dive should be mapped to a different custom.
Other than that, this is a very good mod, and definitely one of my all-time favorites when it comes to SRB2.
