I personally prefer the look of the lampposts from Sonic 1 to that of the starposts from the later games, so I made a replacement 3D model for it. I'm sharing it here for anyone else who has the same preference.
To install it, just replace the files in the "models\OBJE" folder with the ones I've provided, making sure to back up the old ones first in case you change your mind. You only need to copy "STPT.md3" and "STPT.png"; you can ignore "S1Lamppost.blend" and "STPT.xcf" if you aren't interested in modifying it.
