[Open Assets] Air Acceleration 1.3.1

This time, I fixed an issue where in the OLDC, switching skins to someone else will make you go superspeed, and a similar effect would happen when starting some levels. I did a rather hacky solution where the effect doesn't apply for the first 5 tics of the level.

Shame on me for not trying out the latest OLDC until today..
Sorry for all the updates today! This time I found a major bug where you would not accelerate at all on the ground on levels where you spawn mid air (a lot of them!) and you would accelerate less in the air in that case!
And even worse, if you disabled the mod in that state, you would be completely immobile!
At least you can beat the game now.

This mod now works in splitscreen.. whoops!
However do note that I didn't add secondary commands due to my lack of knowledge on the topic.
Instead, the values are shared between the 2 players.
Thanks for trying Air Acceleration! I made a small patch update related to the commands.

airacceleration_amount has been split into 2:
  • The original command is now airacceleration_max_amount, which sets the max value that players can set their personal value to, if you are a server admin. The default is 65536, but you can disable the limit by making it -1. I would not recommend that though.
  • airacceleration_amount now sets your personal value, which saves between play sessions too! It's limited by airacceleration_max_amount however. You also can't set it while in the air so keep that in mind.
  • I also edited the command messages to reflect what they do now.
A bigger update should be coming soon, and it aims to fix some bugs.

Now that Air Acceleration has been approved, I tested this a bit more thoroughly. Here are the adjustments:
  • Disabled for Mario, Luigi, S3 Sonic, CD Sonic (when physics are on), and Elfilin as they cause some issues.
  • A spiffy new icon!
  • Removed a slightly annoying message every time you spawn. It was never needed in the first place..
  • Also removed a message that would say "Couldn't save Air Acceleration data", which could probably also cause an error too. It's very rare anyways.
Known issues:
  • When playing as Tangle and Whisper together, and swapping mid-air, your acceleration will go through the roof!!
  • When playing with Classic-based Physics Changes, your acceleration will be slightly higher in the air, and there's no way for me to detect it. Feel free to disable Air Acceleration with airacceleration_toggle when playing with it on. (But if you're playing on the non ++ version, then it will work correctly)
If you find any other characters acting up above the land, try to tell me about it.
