Redownload the mod
This can happen sometimes
Either your file was corrupted when you were downloading it or you messed with the sprites
I kinda doubt you messed with the sprites

Or a certain type of mod is corrupting it

are there going to ever be any missing sprite easter eggs or easter eggs in general? (im aware i ask for this alot im sorry)

I'll be honest I was just excited for V2 (which i just downloaded), but this looks adorable. I WILL admit, though, that the side profile stand sprite looks...well, his face looks a LITTLE too flat(edit: oops right they're subject to change) but everything else there looks great. Good job!

I do hope there will be some kind of update eventually. Although, I can't really think of anything that could be added other than a super form, although judging by the history of the running animation, it might seem you haven't decided what to have it as. I do know there is a way hesse sonic has run in the sonic mania intro that isn't just a jog or peelout copy, but rather it's essentially how modern sonic runs. You can see it in the sonic mania intro when sonic is running on one of those lines, right before tails catches sonic and launches him into a warp ring.
I may have actually mentioned this previously, now that I think about it.
