XSonic is fun once you learn him, but I 100% agree with this. Especially online where there's some input delay. Hopefully more servers will have Modern Sonic once v6 releases compared to now. (Apparently the current version breaks servers..)
I know. But jokes aside, I'm hoping some of the mods like Silver, Shadow, Rushchars and other mods get updates, But Local Memer is probably right, X might get an update.
Does anyone can do spindash if they try too?Tails and Knuckles can do it,Amy and cream in sonic advance can do it so does this mean spindash isnt a unique ability to sonic and shadow?well I can understand that sonic teach tails but what about knuckles, amy and cream?

anyway,do you guys think that all hud style will have the ranking animation? and which one will you like the most?
I know I'm late to the party, but I'd like to give my two cents on the topic of characters other than hedgehogs Spindashing, and also since I love writing paragraphs and sharing my stupid opinions.
First, personal head cannon. Sonic and Shadow are the best, most skilled at the Spindash as it is an innate ability. If I were to design, say, an Adventure styled Sonic game, I'd have all the characters be able to Spindash, but give the most powerful/versatile Spindash to Sonic/Shadow. This also feeds into the Dropdash, imo. Sonic has mastered the Spindash compared to, say, Tails and Knuckles, and it shows in the Dropdash. It also puts into the spotlight the fact that Sonic is not an air-based character, but a ground-based character meant to traverse said ground at insane speed, and having his aerial ability smoothly transition into his fast ground-based ability really highlights that.
Second, reality. It's gameplay. People come to Sonic for gameplay first and foremost, obviously, since it's mainly a video game series. I'd be kind of weird to strip all the other characters of such an iconic yet rudimentary ability. I'm choosing to ignore Boost here because 1. They removed the Spindash as of whole () and 2. You've never been able to play as characters other than Sonic in a pure Boost game other than Forces, which was just an avatar that was literally just nerfed Sonic. Also, Frontiers isn't a pure Boost game imo, it's an evolution of a style so big, that it's classified as its own thing.
Anyways, so I don't get FLAMED for going off-topic too much, I'd totally love to see a ranking system. Personally, I'd prefer the SA2 version, in where each stage has its own set goal of points, in which you can earn from going fast, chaining cool actions together, collecting things, and defeating badniks. Speed-based ranking systems are boring, unless they're incredibly tight (*cough cough* 1-2 *cough cough*) and then it's just frustrating.
The SA2 ranking system is the best, hands down, but the traditional Boost speed-based one might just be what they're going to do, see as the creators of the mod are being mostly faithful to the current games, e.g., the Frontiers Spindash, and also because it'd generally be easier to make and probably wouldn't require each stage having its own set goal.
P.S., why COULDN'T Amy Spindash before? She's literally a hedgehog like Sonic and Shadow! She may not be as spiky, but I don't really see why the decision was made.

Can you guys tell I'm an Adventure stan?

Also, has anyone noticed Sonic Team completely forgot the slide exists? It doesn't even function properly in Frontiers and in Shadow Gens if iirc.
Even the quickstep is barely used. When it seems like you're in a section that was made for the quickstep, you try, and you just feel completely misaligned and you just resort to strafing left and right.
