Totally unexpected moment in Frozen Hillside Zone

About SMS support, how do I pull it off? I am using Super Mystic Sonic like it says.

Here is a simple tutorial on what to do if you want to do it in single player:
1. Use botskin (so you change Sonic and Tails with Modern Sonic as playable character and Sms as a companion)
2. Get 50 rings (without having emeralds, if you have them, you'll turn into super Sonic)
3. Hold down custom action 3, so the Allied SMS will go into powershare mode
4. Press jump next to him while you have 50+ rings
5. If it worked, sonic should flash yellow, but with normal sprite instead of being super

As much as I enjoy this mod overall, I don't love the additions for V4 -- the rush color / boost / tricks I find to be more cumbersome and irritating than enjoyable. I think I'll probably stick with the 3.1 for now.

One of the things I'd love in a future update would be a way to remove or toggle the HUD to match the SRB2 / classic aesthetic (maybe with a number percentage instead of a boost gauge) instead.

I mean...if you wanna go back to an inferior version...with worse sprites, worse boost aura, worse walljump...loads more bugs...and no cool infinite boost ability....with special trick poses that embody Modern Sonic's personality...sure be my guest lmao. your loss honestly.

Motd, this mod is awesome! Thanks for making it! One question, what are the plans for V5?

Are the previous 2.2+ releases of Modern available somewhere? This is/was my #1 favorite mod because I love the moveset, but the new stuff in v4 like the tricks/boost aura/infinite boost -- it just isn't what I liked about the character, so for me personally I just feel like it's not as fun; I don't like Sonic turning different colors and the dinging sound when it expires, not my favorite. So yeah it's just different strokes.

If you go through my posts, especially those on the main forum, you'll see how passionately I've advocated for your mod being included as a base option in the base game.

What I want, ideally, is a Modern homing and the thok, but the previous Modern and the new Neo come closest to how I like to play it.

I still think it's wild that NOBODY has tried this (seemingly) obvious mod... I guess it is too obvious? But it's weird bc nobody has done it. It's an after-image of the Mystic effect, I think.

I'm not even sure, but if you use the WayBack Machine, you might see the old v3.1 version around somewhere.

Thankfully I still had a 3.1 in my downloads folder... I had generally been of the habit of replacing each new update and deleting the old one to keep my Addons folder tidy, so I didn't even realize I wanted the earlier version until after I played 4.0... then realized I couldn't re-download it AFTER I shot my mouth off about how I didn't think I'd play 4.0 again (nothing against it, just the improvements aren't what I liked about Modern)... so anyway I have 3.1, but in general, I think it'd be nice to have them easily available somewhere on here. I'd be curious to play the earlier versions!

Honestly, every mod should have archives of their old stuff, although I still prefer v4.

wait till you see v5 lmao

Great mod love the new improvements. It just screams Adventure Sonic while still keeping it like the Modern Sonic we all know and love. Great Job can't wait for v5.

I've always disliked when characters would have inconsistent icon styles on the results screen and leaderboard. Personally I think it'd be nice if Modern Sonic used a normal icon that fit in with most of the skins, while still keeping the unique icon separately on his HUD. I apologize in advance if this comes across as nitpicking, but this sort of thing has bothered me for a while. Maybe someone else can relate.

The new sprites in v4.0 are very well done. In my view they're pretty close to 'Neo Sonic' in quality.
