This mod prevents you from taking damage (losing rings/shields) with the speed shoes, like in Sonic 3D Blast: Director's Cut, and instead knocks you back on impact as if you've lost a shield. This way, you absorb the impact of collision better when getting hit by enemies/hazards while accelerating at high speeds. When the speed shoes wear off, normal damage behavior is restored.
This mod comes in three versions, though they all generally do the same thing, for the most part.

Download options:
- No Shoes Damage (default): Prevents damage with speed shoes, regardless of velocity.
- No Speed Damage: Prevents damage (with speed shoes), but only if you're accelerating at high speeds (specifically 50 or higher). This makes the speed shoes more balanced by only making you invulnerable if you're accelerating at high speeds instead of giving you free invincibility whenever you want. (This idea was taken from the namesake Sonic 3 A.I.R. mod.)
- [V1.1] This option now has momentum support. If you load a mod that lets you maintain high enough speeds (ex: any momentum mod, Super Peel-Out, etc.) even without the speed shoes, you won't take damage!
- No Acceleration Damage: A combination of No Shoes Damage + No Speed Damage that prevents damage in both ways. Without speed shoes, it prevents damage only at high speeds, and with speed shoes, it prevents it regardless of velocity. This makes the speed shoes less balanced than No Speed Damage.
- No Damage: Ignores all damage completely, meaning you're completely impervious to enemies/hazards, even without the speed shoes. You'll always keep your rings/shields when taking damage, similar to the Casual Gameplay option from Sonic 3 Complete. However, you can still die by getting crushed, drowning and falling into bottomless pits.
