Hey all, Othius here. We noticed some of ya were having problems running this pack, so I've spent the last couple days communicating with coders and submitters to figure out "what's makin' this thing lag so much!". Alongside doing bugtesting and geting those
last finishing touches in. There's quite a bit to unload with this update!
If you have been unable to play, or avoiding playing this pack the last couple days due to framerate and lag issues.
Play this version! There's a lot to unpack here, and a lot of love and care put into the forty levels presented this round.
With that out of the way, let's get into the changelog:
OLDC 2024 ROUND 1 - V1.1 CHANGELOG
Optimizations
- Added a lagkiller script by @pastel & @DarkyBenji, provided to me by DarkyBenji. (This is the meat of lag-fixes, making levels like Panic's Fury, Sakura Solstice, and Shooting Skies run silky smooth)
Misc.
- Fixed missing textures in Sunrise Temple, Industrial Lava, and Jungle
- Applied Plushima's credit script to various collaborated levels.
- Fixed missing emblem definitions in Sunrise Temple and Flowing Forest.
- Updated OLDC MIDI by @"MIDIMan"
Hub
- I made the hub cooler. Check it out!
Anteggtica
- Anteggtica bridge script only active in Anteggtica. (This script was bleeding into other levels and causing considerable lag)
Aerial Artillery
- Aerial Artillery spring powerup script only active in aerial artillery
Personalized Palace
- Added a checkpoint to the beginning of the final gauntlet, as well as a few safe rings, so that if you collect every star and reach the gauntlet you won't have to collect them all again if you fail
- Added some rings in places to make a couple areas more hinted at (Strange monitor room, metal's cabin, sonki test tube)
- Added some monitors to the cake room
- Fixed the emblem tag so it should actually be collectible now
Panic's Fury
- Reworded the castle exit text to be clearer
- Made the castle exit text appear more often
- Optimized the ring dash script
- Added an extra text prompt at 60 seconds in, telling you how many tokens are in the level total
Shooting Skies
- Fixed various texturing errors
- Added two springs
Techno Madness
- Fixed checkpoint respawn that would continuously kill you
- It no longer rains indoors (and explosives now explode against the outside section ceiling)
Emerald Coast (Again)
- Fixed the strong paths for amy and fang, and remapped the vertices to grid
- Added texture ZXPIERC
Sakura Solstice
- Falling leaves script by @LJ Sonik
- Combi ring objects
- Cleaned up some broken textures & sectors
KNOWN BUGS
- The hub is a little unstable! It crashes sometimes, often yet inconsistently, and I've yet to identify the cause.
- Sakura Solstice ice doesn't lock your ability (You can glide, bounce, etc. while frozen. It's really funny, actually)
