(Slight blood and religious iconography warning, for uhhh, one character)
Yet again Tiniest Turtles kindly helped me and compiled a pack of all of my previously done Kart character mods, which I never thought about doing before and just now realized how many characters I've done.
I will now put some character select screenshots along with snippets of the descriptions I wrote in each respective thread:
AoStH Dr. Robotnik
Here he is, the one and only, Dr. Ivo Robotnik (or you could call him the distinguished Dr. Robotnik), based on Milton Knight's design from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Mimikyu
For no reason I can figure out, Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon, decides to join the Grand Prix with the hedgehog and company. Perhaps it could be an attempt to gain respect and appreciation? I don't really know.
Fawful
Cackletta's pupil of fury (and chortles), after an explosion of deadliness that happened a second time, returns to have conquering on the race tracks, and guarantees* you fink-rats will taste the mustard of doom!
*Not really.
**The broken english is on purpose.
Putt Putt
Putt-Putt, the anthropomorphic child car from the Putt-Putt series of games for children made by Humongous Entertainment, enters the race, and of course I'm not talking about the game of the same name (which I happened to rip the voice clips from).
PaRappa the Rapper
He's back again, the young pup on the block, taking every race track one by one!
PaRappa Rappa, the rapping dog that is likely too young to have a driver's license yet has one anyway, steps on the gas in the race, and he's got more than rapping skills to take his opponents on.
Dimentio
“Master of dimensions... Pleaser of crowds... I am... Dimentio!”
Count Bleck's servant, Dimentio, puts his magical abilities to the test in the racing field, the reasoning behind this is as unknown as how he still resides outside of the Underwhere, but hey, might as well enjoy the magic act it while it lasts!
Rayman (Rayman Origins)
Rayman, the limbless thingamajig originating from the Glade of Dreams, goes for another round of kart racing that doesn't involve Java phones or Gameloft, while sporting his design from Rayman Origins (or Legends to an extent, but not really).
Jinjo
A non-specific Jinjo (could also be a Minjo) from the Banjo-Kazooie series breaks the collectible routine and drives into this game, along with the classic "whee"s and the "help"s.
They just couldn't take it anymore, they have their limits.
Mega Mushroom
The Mega Mushroom power-up from New Super Mario Bros. DS gets on the wheel without hands and questionable sentience.
I mean, it's not an item anymore, so I don't see why it shouldn't drive.
There's a whole story about romhacks, flashcarts and audio cables behind the sound ripping, but I'll spare you that one.
This was a commission by a certain Robothing, so thanks a lot for that.
Nitro Man
One of the Robot Masters from Mega Man 10. President of a stunt club who can transform into a motorcycle and drive himself.
Don't worry, he's not the bad kind of sick this time, he's only good sick.
This one's a commission by Doremy.
R.O.B.
The Robotic Operation Buddy (or Famicom Robot) has come back from their Mario Kart DS grave to race elsewhere.
I couldn't easily fit a palette to the Famicom variant, trying Cherry, being suggested Gold until I settled for Peach. I knew his NES counterpart wouldn't have any trouble getting one though, there's more than enough black and white palettes.
I tried to recreate the Mario Kart DS "voice clips" with the original samples to the best of my ability, since ripping would've likely given a lower quality sound and it would've been much more of a pain than it's worth.
Michael Afton
Being son of a killer is stressful stuff, so don't be shocked to see this scooped Rick Astley lookalike racing around here and there.
I tried to take all sound effects from Sister Location, as he's based on his sprite appearance in that game, including minigame sounds and (purposely crunched) voice clips.
This was a fun in-between break more than anything, though I still put a good amount of effort in it despite being a bunch of rectangles.
Tin Star
The tin (haha) sheriff from East Driftwood put his guns away to get into another sort of "quick draws".
This one's a commission by the lengthily named ZiMEEMga Rosebavaran Neutron 236.
Susie Haltmann
Former executive assistant of the Haltmann Works Company, Susanna Patrya Haltmann, begins a business in kart racing, possibly to get funds to revive her company.
This is also a commission by ZiMEEMga Rosebavaran Neutron 236 (seriously, that's a long name).
John Ward (that warning at the top? yeah this is it)
I suppose there's nothing inherently sinful about go-karting, so there should be nothing wrong with a priest giving it a go, right? I mean, I wouldn't blame anyone for taking any sort of break after witnessing what this man has gone through.
As I implied, there's small-ish amounts of blood coming from his eyes and mouth when he gets hit, so if you're queasy about that stuff even at such a small resolution, you've been warned.
The minimap icon also has a really small cross.
This one's a commission by Mindacos, and I'm really sorry I unnecessarily took this long.
There's also a version without Robotnik, just in case you're using Strife's AoStH Character Pack or under some other circumstances I am not aware of or do not even exist.
