Hello, friends! ~

Are you tired of playing the same SRB2 over and over ?
Yes? Well, sorry, I can't do anything about that.
What I can do however is to make if feel different.

Introducing Plume's Palettes!
That's right.
While I can't make map and characters, I'm decent at toying with colors.
So, colors are exactly what I'll share with you today !

BirdPal
A colorful hue-shifted palette that stays true to vanilla.
It started as a port of my kart palette mod but I tweaked it a bit more.

PlumPal
My older palette, which is very hue shifted and less saturated, giving a pretty different look to SRB2.

⚠ The game will explode if you load the palette from the "Addon" menu. ⚠
To load the file, you have three options:
• You load it using the -file BirdPal-v1.pk3 paramater.

• You launch the game with it using a launcher.
• (Untested) Use addfile BirdPal-v1.pk3 in the autoexec.cfg file in the root of SRB2. Create it if it doesn't exist.

Soon you would fix that when you open it in addon menu the game explode?
I've been running into an error as well.

the game is fine when I open the addon
but the moment I load into an act it crashes
and an error window pops up with the message:
Z_CheckHeap 420: block 10350 doesn't have linkback from allocated memory.

I have found a workaround, I had the same problem and then I thought, what if I used the old SRB2 Launcher to load it in right when the game starts and now it works.
 
Edited the opening post to color some important instructions people were not noticing.
 
How do I use the -file PlumPal-v1.0.pk3 parameter on Mac?
Sorry for the extremely late answer.
I do not know how to get this mod to work on Mac.

Try creating an autoexec.cfg file in your SRB2 folder. Write "addfile PlumPal-v1.0" in it, save it.

I love the way BirdPal looks in Kart and I love it here as well, but using the autoexec method of loading it on my end is inconsistent. First load works perfectly and I played with it quite a while! Second load, gives a SIGSEV. The third load again worked good. My last three put out specific errors, being "Z_CheckHeap 420: block 7005 doesn't have linkback from allocated memory." and this one again but with block 7757. The final load gave the error "Z_Free: wrong id".

Yeah, I tested it myself after posting and noticed the autoexec method don't really work. I have no solutions for Mac users because of that.
It's a problem with the game itself so I cannot really deal with it.


Can't really update the first post at the moment because somehow I have to rewrite the whole thing whenever I want to edit it.


The best method stays the -file parameter. It works 100% of the time.
 
I add a file, then do addfile BirdPal-v1.pk3 then I go into the game and

BOOM!!!

It explodes.
 
I'd test and play around with these myself if I knew how to use launch parameters, but I'm not very familiar with those, unfortunately.


Edit: I figured out how to use launch parameters, I really love the way BirdPal looks.
