The Spindash introduced in Sonic Frontiers was not really the Spindash. It was a faster Boost, that dealt damage, flung Sonic off terrain randomly, and had Sonic play a Spindash-reminiscent animation. It was even internally dubbed the "Spinboost," so even Sonic team knew this wasn't quite the Spindash.
A "traditional" Spindash would be more like SA1. Holding a button to charge and releasing to blast off and tapping it again to uncurl, featuring dynamic speeds to travel at that is influenced by slopes, even more than simply running.
Please keep in mind this is entirely subjective terminology.
I'd probably pick 4. as my favorite as well, if they didn't remove the Spindash. It's just so iconic! Even if it wasn't very useful, I still entirely think it should've been there. It's Sonic's thing!

I'd also like to note that when I said I hope they scrap the Spinboost, I was referring to Sega, as much as I would also prefer the Spamdash here.
I think they did it well enough in unwiished, I'd argue that if you're gonna have the spindash either make it act like one or make it do something interesting which frontiers also kinda does but I would still have preferred something more faithful in that case
3. Likes Heroes' controls for some reason. Concept was great tho
4. Boost V1. Sonic feels like a bullet flying through the stage, with a drift and usually an Airdash. Pre-Forces
5. Boost V2. Sonic feels a little tighter and lacks a drift, usually starring a double jump (this also unintentionally fits into Colors, but that's Boost V1) Really just Forces. Yikes
6. Liked Open Zone and want it to continue.
If you couldn't tell, I'm 2.
Personally, there was never a perfect 3D Sonic game. The closest were the 2 Adventure games. SA1 specifically has amazingly fun gameplay. If there were ever a Sonic Adventure 3, the stage design would be a mix between SA1 and SA2, with multiple branching paths, rewarding skill, reaction time, and a bit of memorization. There'd also be more emphasis on the pinball physics, and said physics would be polished up, so the stages would feature more wild and fun shapes to mess around with.
This mod seems like it's attempting to bridge 2. and 4. together in a similar manor to Sonic Frontiers Update 2. It's really interesting. I do hope they scrap the Spinboost for a more traditional Spindash.

why "agree" of all things it's not like you can disagree with facts
I also don't get why people are hyping up the 300 pages like anything's going to change after that
