I think everyone knows why but just to keep the joke going...Why is modern sonic blue?
Ahem.. actually the color blue was choosen for Sonic as an way of marketing and as easy way of associating Sonic with Sega soo basically Sonic is blue because On the production of the first game Sega wanted everyone to remember Sonic as the icon of Sega and because their logo was blue anyways soo it was an intelligent way of making them visible on the product of Sonic The Hedgehog.
(If someone want i can explain also why sonic's shoes are red too)

Here's a lil bonus GIF just for giggles, gameplay pulled from the latest devbuild, with all the goodies and treats packed in there!!!!
Although a lack of visual changes, internally there's minor physics and polishes to smooth out the rougher areas. Lots of bugfixes and minor adjustments needed though..... Not like this'll go on very long though, its just a big game of executing then adjustments based on feedback.

but here's the news, with other devs moving to new projects, the release window is pushed to late-September/before October. Which is around the time his child will be born. The second that happens all his free time will be gone!!!!! Which means development is on a hyperspeed cruise to release in order to give Spork the time to care for his child around that time. Don't expect any significant updates post-release (remember how this update is a finale? <3).
not a day i would imagine someone racing against time to release a mod before their kid is born....
