Latest reviews

This is quite certainly a bit of a novelty, with what it tries. It's actually a pretty good step-up to the previous one I reviewed from you, too.

I'll review each level, pointing out their positives and their negatives.

Plummeting Eggship - Oddly enough, for a first level, this is one of my favorites in the entire pack. It's also got an interesting concept, too - it's an escape sequence. I do like many of the sections a lot, and most of the time, you can't stop moving or else you will fall to your death. I do think that the vacuums are kind of weird, though. There are entire outdoors sections, yet those vacuums in the indoors sections lead to your doom? It's confusing.

The Crash - It's also got quite similar positives, with good level design allowing versatility and such. There's not really much to note here.

The Egg Train - Probably the one many people dislike. Oddly enough, it wasn't really that much of a problem for me. Sure, having to get back up is definitely a bit of a pain, but if you stay on the track you're probably gonna be fine.

Techno Hill...? - For differentiation I'm probably just gonna call this "Stunning Savanna," since it kind of fits the nature of the level.

Stunning Savanna - The level design here is good as well. I do like the switch to the cave theme, it has a nice transition, too. Not much else can be said for this map.

The levels here are quite a treat. There are a few problems here and there, but other than that, it's a good one.

I love a lot of things about this map pack, but there are a few issues with it.

Let's start with what I like about it:

Plummeting Eggship might be my favorite stage mod of all time. Sonic is perfect for escape-themed levels, and there just aren't enough of them. It also reminds me of the Sonic Unleashed intro a little :D

The stages in general are well designed, they provide a decent challenge but they're also not impossible to navigate, which is a pretty big problem I see with maps nowadays. Most newer maps I see are way too confusing but these aren't like that.

As for what I don't like:

While I love Plummeting Eggship, I've noticed the title card is spelled wrong (which isn't a huge deal but still annoying), the music doesn't loop, and parts of the stage have holes in the wall which causes the player to get sucked out of the ship but there's another section in which you need to go outside but end up being perfectly fine? I think maybe you should add some kind of force field around that area to explain why it doesn't suck the player out into space.

Almost all of the stages are great, except for one. Egg Train. I cannot stand Egg Train. For most characters, it's impossible to even get up to Eggman because there's no spring against the wall. And even if you do, the fight itself is unfair. There's no warning for when the track turns red and you need to get to a platform, you just have to kind of guess.

I get this is a demo, and it's a great start to what I expect will be one of the best map packs when it's complete, but right now the current maps need a little tweaking before you move onto making the next maps in the pack.

Overall this is a functional pack- Starting with an escape sequence was pretty interesting, and you pulled off the effect pretty well to get the pack started. Act 2 is a bit short and empty, there wasn't really much content to it, but the visual design is pretty nice, it needs more gameplay to really stand out as a fun starting level.

Act 3 doesn't work- The arena doesn't do anything to affect the gameplay of the boss, and you only fight him on one fraction of the Arena! There's definitely potential for better object placement and arena building here.

One last thing, I know you want people to load asset pack first... and this is technically allowed, hell, I've done it before, but it would be 1000x more convenient for the end user if you merge the objects and textures from asset pack into the file.

Welcome to Releases!
