I've been silently following this mod for a while. Playing the most recent version, yeah, it's indeed very solid! Peppino is fun to play most of the time when the stars allign and the full rotation sprites that are included are incredibly accurate to the source material. It's a fun package all put together. That being said, I do have some complaints.
Firstly, this mod is hell to control if you don't have a controller. As somebody who doesn't, yeah, it's annoying. I did preset my controls to be ideal for playing the Modern Sonic addon and just sticked with it for most of my time playing the game, so that should be noted, but even then I still imagine it being annoying to control even with defaults. You have to press C3 and then jump at the same time to superjump, which is kind of essential, but doing it with my control set (C3 is C and jump is spacebar) is annoying. Frankly, this isn't something that can really be fixed by the devs so this isn't a major "fix it now complaint," but maybe an auto superjump or ways to tweak Peppino's controls in general with a menu could be nice if possible.
Secondly, Peppino is WAY TOO FAST. I get the idea here, he's hard to control but you're rewarded with high speed if you get good, but still. It's very easy to bump into a ton of walls and makes a lot of enclosed space platforming challenges in the game total hell. There are a lot of areas in where it felt actively better to just walk through it and take my time rather than blitz through, which doesn't feel accurate to Pizza Tower in general.
And finally, this is kind of a double whammy, but if you load this with the Pizza Time Spice Runners map, you cannot get past the Peppino's Pizza intro stage for Peppino. Unless I'm missing something, it'd be nice to have a way to automatically skip that stage or something.
Despite all that, I do still enjoy this mod and I will eagerly await for any new updates.
