Kart Rev 1.6 is now available. This is a compatibility release for Kart 1.5, and thus contains no additional map changes at the moment.
Please see the Overview page for public documentation and changes. Notable changes include:
All maps that have received fixes in vanilla 1.5 equivalent to those that were found in Rev have been removed from the addon.
Removal of the VL Version of Kart Rev. Server hosts that still wish to hide Kodachrome Void from the map rotation can do so through loading a separate SOC file containing level header modifications.
Black Bliss and Blue Mountain Classic both now play back their music properly with this addon loaded.
As detailed in Gunla's previous post in this addon's thread, subsequent Rev patches will now be handled by me (@alphaRexJames) and @runa. Thank you for submitting reports and other suggestions, and we hope you'll continue to support Kart Rev.
Thank you for waiting, being patient, all of you sending me reports and various tidbits of things to look out for. I am a lot busier than when I first made Rev with the crew. But nonetheless we continued our work and thus, I am very happy to announce that Kart Rev 1.4 is now available. While I will continue to look at reports and may provide updates in the future (and pending hotfixes, hoping there's very few!) - consider this the final major version of Rev. This project has accomplished its purpose of providing mostly beneficial and quality of life changes to vanilla maps, curbing softlocks, major skips, backtracking, and more contentious elements of maps for a multiplayer environment.
Please see the Overview page for public documentation and changes.
You'll notice there are now two versions of Rev to download. While I'll retread on it for the changelog, please be aware that:
- The Full Version of Kart Rev 1.4 keeps all maps in place and does not adjust map rotation.
- The VL Version of Kart Rev 1.4 removes Kodachrome Void from all map rotations and assigns it to Single Player, making it unselect-able.
Kodachrome Void has had significant texture changes, but retains a significantly weakened gradient pattern, which may still be adverse to some with photosensitivity issues. I encourage you to make the best decision for your netgames and enjoy Kart Rev.
