CELADON
the Jerboa
Mysterious in origin but friendly in demeanor, Celadon the Jerboa’s powerful psychokinetic powers make him a master of the air. Charge up a blast of forward momentum, or let go early to soar up, up, and away!the Jerboa
ABILITY: Psycho Sling
The core of Celadon’s moveset is a chargeable bounce. While in the air, re-press and hold Jump to begin charging up psychic energy. When you let go, you’ll go flying!Charging the Psycho Sling actually does two things. While it may be obvious that the force becomes more powerful the more you charge it, the angle of the launch also becomes less and less steep, from an upwards boost from tapping Jump to a forward one from fully charging the ability. An indicator shows what direction you’ll go, but as you master Celadon’s moveset, you’ll be able to ignore this indicator and aim by reflex.
Every time you jump, you may notice that a graphic resembling the cuffs of Celadon’s gloves and boots appears in the top right corner of your screen. This graphic indicates how many Psycho Slings you have left - you get three per jump, each one with diminishing power. Use them wisely!
ABILITY: Psycho Stomp
While charging a Psycho Sling, you can press Spin to cancel it into a powerful stomp. Instead of forwards or upwards, Celadon flings himself straight down at incredible speeds, using his powers to augment his landing and create a powerful shockwave! Anything that’s nearby will be flung away, and enemies that get too close will take damage.ABILITY: Crouch and Slide
By pressing Spin while on the ground, Celadon can crouch down… which doesn’t do much. You can duck under low-flying projectiles, I suppose. If you’re moving, though, Celadon will begin to slide! Celadon’s slide acts similarly to how spinning does for Sonic and his friends, but it’s less committal. Simply release Spin, and he’ll stand right back up!
ABILITY?: Taunt
Press the Toss Flag key, and Celadon will shrug, fall over, strike a fun pose - anything to provoke his enemies and charm his allies! This doesn’t have any mechanical effect - it’s just for fun. He’ll draw from a random pool of emotes, some of which are rarer than others. By holding a weapon switch key as you start this taunt, you can select which taunt he’ll do. Some taunts can only be gotten at random, though. Be careful with that loud taunt - some say it possesses volatile qualities…By collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds, Celadon can harness their power to become Super Celadon! In this enhanced state, not only does he get the usual benefits of a Super transformation, he also can get all 3 uses out of his Psycho Sling with no diminishing power, as well as an increase to the range and power of his Psycho Stomp. There’s no benefit to his taunts, unfortunately…
Additionally, Celadon supports Footsteps.
