Prower
A slightly older Tails from the not-so-distant future, BluEyes provides a slightly speedier take on the twin-tailed prodigy we all know and love. Soar through the air to build up potential energy, and then release it to launch yourself at incredible speeds!
Ability: Propeller Boost
Rather than one continuous and slow hover, BluEyes's flight comes in distinct bursts. Each one acts similarly to an additional midair jump, providing an upward boost.
While each Propeller Boost may slow you down slightly, they do allow you to redirect your momentum in whichever direction you're holding, and any lost speed will come back fairly quickly due to SRB2's generous acceleration curve.
You may notice that every time you jump, a meter will appear in the center of your screen. This meter indicates how many Propeller Boosts you have left, up to a maximum of 5.
BluEyes's Propeller Boosts allow her to move through the air more quickly than her vanilla counterpart, at the cost of some maneuverability. Attempting to use BluEyes's flight in tight platforming situations will make this weakness pretty clear. This might make her skill floor a bit higher than vanilla Tails, but her skill ceiling is significantly higher, due to a combination of this and a connected ability...
Ability: Tailspin
After using one or more Propeller Boosts, press Spin, and BluEyes will launch forward with all the potential energy she's built up! The more Propeller Boosts you've used, the faster the Tailspin will go. Even if you're out of Propeller Boosts, you can still use the Tailspin –and, in fact, that's when it's at its fastest! At that point, it can even outpace Sonic's Speed Thok – the amount of space and time required to charge it up balances it out, though.
Special: Crosswind
While BluEyes's Tailspin can be a great way to hit your opponents so quick that they won't know what hit 'em, missing your shot and leaving your fate in the hands of gravity can be a death sentence on some maps. That's where her special move comes in: Crosswind!
BluEyes whips up a tiny tornado to propel herself upwards, restoring Propeller Boosts as she does. The longer you hold Fire, the longer it'll last and the more Propeller Boosts you'll recover, but the longer it'll take before you can use it again. It's also pretty costly at 20 rings.
It's well worth the price, though, as it allows you to keep using yourself as a fluffy missile without having to worry about where you'll end up if you miss. You may want to hold off on using the Tailspin as an attack while Crosswind is on cooldown, but once it's ready, fire away!
