Sol Sestancia 2

You could also just try slap the lagkiller Lua on it (specifically v2, as v1 can break triggers/things), it's what I did when I saw my frames drop here when getting ready to host (which usually happens on maps with a lot of spike ball spinners or ones that're just b i g from my experience). Tough if your frames are dropping here they're unlikely to survive Robotropolis.

Also I'm not trying to be a helper or anything this is kinda just stuff I already know-
wait, lag killers exist? where can I find one

Lag killers do eliminate some of the scripting tough, so be warned some levels might not entirely do what they're supposed to anymore.
In Sol Sestancia 2's case, the objects moving on the conveyor belts in Robotropolis are gone and Orbot and Cubot don't show up as much in the farm level anymore. Hence the reason why I didn't put the lag killer in by default.

oh, I thought it was a mod that reduced lag like how the footfix shader removes the sprite clipping issue in opengl
(now I feel kinda dumb)

Well, the file is called "lagkiller", and kills lag for me in most cases, the only technical thing it really does is get rid of thinkers if they're too far away from you.
Stages are still perfectly playable though (besides Robotropolis if you're lagging in Lost City) if that's your worry, and those 2 issues Roger mentioned are the only things I noticed while playing it.

Also I didn't know lag reduction shaders were a thing.

Oh wait, as in like if lagkiller was a shader.

no, as in a mod that makes levels not lag or lag less
I just used footfix as a comparison because it fixed an issue I have with opengl.
lag wasn't an issue until a recent update, so the idea a mod I could just add and have the game work like it used to was just so cool that I might've gotten my hopes up

It... does make levels lag less, though? Sure with a couple cons, but you usually will have to compromise to make ends meet if it's performance you want.

Out of curiosity, is there any reason for Sally Acorn's design being all over the place? She kinda alternates between her pre-reboot outfit, post-reboot design, and an original design with a red shirt and blue pants across parts 1 and 2.

Wait, what, the lag has gotten worse in a recent update? You remember when that was?

Well, difference between Sol Sestancia 1 and 2 is easy, you never see Sally in person in part 1, only older family portraits that could have been from years earlier. But if I screwed up in part 2, yeah, I got not excuse other then "oopsie", the consequence of me making things up as I go along and not thinking all details trough.

well, a recent update of Srb2 itself (so it's not your fault, just that my game has issues where it didn't before)
but the lagging is mainly in the first level and robotropolis.
I was also kinda bummed out that the swamp despite being hyped up in part 1 was only used in the first level
last thing but I had weird HL2 vibes from playing this as my wip Maverick mod, idk I just wanted to mention it.

Drat, I hope a new update fixes that.
I don't know what to do about these 2 levels to eliminate it further without breaking the stages.
Level 1 should at least work better in the arcade version, it's missing a huge chunk there.

Awkward thing about Sol Sestancia 2 is that wasn't really planned to cut off where it did, so the whole first level is a kind of awkward out of place level with the rest. So the swamp being so hyped up at the end wasn't Really intended. But guess that's how it went now.

I tired the arcade version, but it felt like it was missing a lot of what made the base version good

this is kinda embarrassing but I thought shrek was going to have plot significance since well, a swamp

on a separate note, it would've made more sense to have lost city start at where sol sest 1 ended instead of just extending the last level of part 1

this is just me taking the micky but

this guy really took 'Everything is canon.' a bit too seriously

Well, in this case it's more "My work will never be official Sonic canon so I can do whatever the heck I want."

I'm not exactly sure how you're supposed to get the Cyan Emerald as Sonic alone or as Amy. It seems that you are meant to climb up and go across the rooftops, but some of them are just too high to get up on.

Rogerregorroger updated Sol Sestancia 2 with a new update entry:

1.5

Time for a new update. Some small quality of life improvements, like he level select actually working and the death pit in Royal palace fixed, new way to get to the cyan emerald.

But more importantly, brand new bonus level, explicitly designed for X Sonic:
View attachment 138409

You're challenged to a race by Sam Speed and it'll take all your speed and parkours skills to keep up.
Unless he crashes into traffic and gets stuck. It's a bit of an experimental level so things can...

Great forest wall in arcade mode is missing the alternate exit that's in the standard mode

Based on recent feedback I've added some adjustments to the X Sonic level for version 1.6, collision with the traffic is less severe, checkpoint after the cutscene, a voice now says "Sam wins" when you lose so the death isn't as random anymore.
I just can't seem to fix Tails being cut off when activating the friends, hmm.

Uh, seems I accidently removed the arcade version somehow. It's reuploaded again.
