Ashura the Hedgehog (Sonic Boll) - Development Thread

Hi guys!! Sorry for the radio silence...again. There were some pretty substantial changes in the background, and then everyone got busy again. With that said, I bring more progress on the mod! Before that, however, I would like to make one thing clear:

I've been watching this thread, and I know you guys have been making ability suggestions or animation suggestions. It's very fun to read what you guys have been suggesting! I'm glad everyone is still invested in this guy. However, I should make something clear for the future: We are not adding any more abilities to him. His moveset is already planned out (and nearly done, programming wise). Animations are less clear-cut, but if you notice that an animation slot is already done or being worked on (like the wait animation), then it likely won't be changed for a suggestion later on. As for ability upgrades, like when going super... Well, I don't really want to spoil anything, do I? With that out of the way, let's get to the new stuff!

Ashura has new CSS art thanks to the efforts of DaOrangeBoi and DaJumpJump! Big thanks to them!

In addition, Ashura is getting a resprite! Thankfully, there wasn't a lot of progress done to make this a huge time sink. I think he looks better, don't you?

On the code side of things, I've been patching up some holes and adding some extra features, like shield-augmented abilities. Also some fun stuff, just to keep things interesting.

As always, there has been more progress made than I've shown off here, but this gets the general idea across of what's been added and what's been changed. I hope you guys enjoy having some more progress for him, even though it took me months to update...haha. That's the end of this update! Until next time!

it would be pretty funny if you added an easter egg with xtreme just like shadow and cacee, also you could make it so if you noclip in wrong places, you die and what you see on the screen is just an image of the backrooms as you die, it would be pretty funny.

This character aims to take the Sonic Boll (v2.0 available here) version of Ashura and put him into SRB2, with tweaks made for the differences between the games. I am the coder for the project.
Spriters include: CyanideJam (main spriter), -S-, dajumpjumpette/DaJumpJump, and &Rapseo.
CSS art created by CyanideJam.

Instashield sprites made by DirkTheHusky, original code made by Katmint.
Original spindash source port made by SMS Alfredo.
Z wall detection code was made by TripelTheFox in 2.1, for mighty.lua.

Current progress:
Slippery physics: Done
Core abilities: Mostly included (some tweaks in progress)
Sprites: Some included. Roughly 10-15%, I'd say?
Visual effects for abilities: Mostly done
Shield effects: Partially finished (around 25-35%)
There might be more in the future, but for now this is it.

For those unfamiliar with Sonic Boll, Ashura's moveset comprises of a few different moves: The teleport, the midair spindash, the swim, and the bounce. The bounce swaps with the swim underwater, and the rest of his abilities can be used freely. Teleporting allows you to clip through terrain, not just go through walls. In competitive gametypes, however, you can only teleport into areas that have open space.

Here are a few gifs, with more attached at the bottom of the post. Certain aspects are still subject to change.
