Milne the Crystal Fox

Milne uses crystal powers and raw strength to take out her foes! She might not be able to spindash, but she can toss crystals at her enemies!

Abilities
Shard Toss - Primary Ability, Spin
Press Spin while grounded to toss three crystals forward. After a few seconds, the crystals slow down and shatter. Tossing a crystal at another player in Co-op gives them a crystal shield. The ability to give the shield can be turned off with the command milneshield.

Twister Thok - Secondary Ability, Double Jump

Double Jump to get a burst of speed and height! If you press jump again, you can thok downwards. When you do this, Milne will spin like a top and you can hit your enemies from any angle. This ability goes by your momentum, so if you don't move at all you can use it as a normal double jump. The second thok will boost you higher off of springs.


Lift - Third Ability, Press Spin while next to an enemy or player
Milne can pick up enemies! Go next to them and press Spin, and Milne will lift them up.
Pressing Spin again will toss them. In Co-op, Milne can pick up players too! They will be curled into a ball, so you can throw them at enemies. The ability to lift players can be turned off with the command milnegrief.

Spike Blasting - Passive Ability
By doing the Twister Thok or running, Milne can break through spikes like Metal Sonic. This makes the Metal Sonic race and any other zone with a lot of spikes easier.

Milne & Fang
After Milne beat Fang in Arid Canyon, he tried to jump off the train as normal, but she ran after him! This resulted in them both getting hit by a sign and being knocked to Greenflower Zone. Fang may not like it, but they need to work together to beat Robotnik now!

- Fixed the Steam Jets in THZ not boosting Milne properly.

- Milne is now alot heavier, reflecting more accurately the fact that she's made entirely out of crystals. She now falls twice as fast, but can use her weight to crush enemies under her feet and cause shockwaves!
- Milne will now give Kirby an ability when copied
- Vertical grab range has been reduced
- Switching to another character while performing the Kazotsky Kick will now cancel it properly
- milneshield command has been added to allow toggling of Milne's shield gifting abilities
- Modified Milne's character select description.

v1.1
- You can now pick up players that are in their Super form in Co-op
- The carrying animation now properly resets when something falls out of your hands
- Carried objects will now automatically be dropped if they get too far away from Milne
- Picking an object up now resets their rollangle
- You can no longer pick up Brak's Electric Barrier
- Picking up Minuses no longer turns them into a mound of dirt
- The milnegrief command no longer requires the player doing the command to be in a level
- The sound effect from using the Crystal Shield's ability can no longer be heard from everywhere

honestly the heavy weight mechanic 1. just makes sense and 2. makes the character feel more unique than it already does, which is certainly saying something about the uniqueness of the character
anyway, with that, here are my general thoughts on the character:
i like milne a lot, she has a very instinctive playstyle, which somehow fits in a game like srb2 which sometimes requires you to plan your moves ahead so you don't get screwed over by the thok or the spin, or even an unlucky bounce. i also really like milne's crystal toss ability, which is a great projectile, but honestly could go a bit faster? i've often found myself missing shots bc they were barely too slow, but otherwise are a pretty good projectile, even if i didn't find myself using them all of the time.
star of the show though is the double thok, this is just great to use, it adds a bit more mobility to a heavy character and also an offensive melee move, which is pretty neat.
the other abilities (passive or just very case sensitive) are just okay in my opinion. the ability to run through spikes is nice, though i have only found it useful in the metal sonic race, since other than that the areas in which i should be using it i either forget or just can't get enough speed. though i will say it's nice that it applies to the thok as well. the enemy throwing...in theory it's good, and when you get to actually pick up and throw them, it's cool, but the activation box is just way too small for it to be useful, even when i'm using the milne and fang combo. in that situation i just end up giving fang a shield several times over.

other than my criticisms, it's a great character, a delight to play as for the most part, a solid 7.5/10

We added it, most people hated it, so we got rid of it. Honestly, even I was starting to get bothered by the addition after a while.

Here's an idea: Milne + crystal shield (that she gives to herself by pressing a button) = becoming heavy, and by crashing into the ground the shield breaks.
Maybe even make falling to the ground optional, the same way she gives herself the crystal shield.

She was originally going to be able to give herself the Crystal Shield, but it was considered too OP because you could just never die by putting it on you every time you got hit.

something tells me i was literally the only person who ever liked the heavyweight mechanic
anyway, new milne's cool, not much to really report on lol, i like the xmomentum sprite addition, that's a nice touch.
