Once you have a save you can always update back to v0.4.x

you cannot start a new file on mobile currently, but you can continue an existing one. So yes, all you need to do is start a file on an older version, make sure it saves once you hit jcz1 (or gfz1 if you want to do lockon) then you can safely update. You do not need to go any further before updating.

this might be a hot take, but I think the title screen background should be prerecorded as the current one causes lag on startup for lower end devices.
i agree with this, my phone is not the weakest so it can still run it at 18 fps but its still inconvenient and for people with weaker devices it could be straight up unplayable

update: after i updates mrce to the latest version the title screen now runs at 11 fps

after playing for a while, midnight freeze is still insanely laggy. it took me about 3+ minutes just to do the ice bridge platforming part on act 1 only to fall at the last jump.

you have to make a save file in version 0.3 before updating to 0.4, you dont need to make any progress, just make the save and then close the game, reopen and choose 0.4.3a (latest version)

Hey everyone! before the year comes to a close we've decided to send out a new beta of MRCE 0.5- Keep in mind it's not finished yet, 0.5 will be posted in full sometime early 2024.

Wow this is really cool! I really like the touch of the music changing based on how you progress, I'd have never thought of that. It's one of those small, trivial types of detail that contributes a lot despite being such a small thing.
 
Considering the extensive amount of additions to the level since I recorded it a few days ago, I decided to make another showcase video, this time showing a new section made by STF and Radicalicious (with more touchup and level rearrangement done by me).

The exit sector in a12 build is very tiny in the center of the circle. This was fixed, but the level is still completable
