I think all Sonic-X fans have wondered what a proper Game based on the anime would be like.
Now we can experience what it would be like today!
(X-Sonic)
This originally was a gift for BlueBlur for letting me beta test his amazing character, but was ultimately turned into this massive project. Something I'm really proud of, and I believe that you all will have some fun with.

If I haven't gotten the hint yet, You're meant to play this map pack with X-sonic!

Now onto the content:

MAPXA
First we have "TUTORIAL X":

A complete mini X-Sonic experience designed around the character to learn the basics in a short tutorial.
Built with dialog with Sonic teaching you directly! And heavily based of the SRB2 tutorial stage. I don't want to spoil much with all of these levels so I'm not going to show off too much!

Second we have "THE THORNDYKE MANSION":
(or the thorndyke estate)

Can't have a Sonic-X inspired map pack without this icon!
This is just a simple hangout map, But has a lot of detail. I hope you'll have just as much fun revisiting your childhood, as I did making this map!

This wasn't planned to be in this map pack, however I felt like we needed more city maps for SRB2.
Made this city and its features in only 48 hours? Worth of time. As a challenge for my map making skills.

(While the theming is Dragon ball, it's specifically made for X Sonic's Dragonball Tribute gamemode "Super Sonic Tenkaichi", and it's too good to pass up.)

(UPDATE: Because I see a lot of people confused) How to select and play the stages
Since the XPACK doesn't replace any stages, You have to use the Level select.

Here's some visual steps:

1: Go to "EXTRAS"

Tutorial X is not selectable via the multiplayer menu, And is not multiplayer compatible.

If you don't have extras unlocked you probably need to work on your save file.

I had a really fun time making this map pack for the community, And I'm really proud of what I've been able to accomplish, I hope you guys enjoy!

Reusability Note:
While X Pack is non-reusable, all of its internal Lua is Open Assets! The Lua consists of either reusable assets or is made by me, so if you want the Cell Arena's destructible FOFs, Egg-Robo to Audience behaviour, the Stage-Object-Performance-Booster code, spawning with emeralds/rings behaviour, the daytime/weather code, etc...feel free to grab it!

The pack is really great, but I suppose somethings missing. Like Eggman's base in the first episode for example, or the ARK and playable another maps in the show. That'd be great tho. But you are the ones who will develop the mode, so the decision is yours, but I think you should give it a try. What do you think?

this might as well be with the xsonic mod since it's really good and the perfect way to practice with xsonic, tho the only problem I have with this pack is that I wish it was easier to access the levels

Amazing pack; even if it wasn't for the things it's innovated like the stage destruction for a game mode the public hadn't even gotten to play until a few days before the packs release, this map would still be amazing in my eyes.

I didn't play the tutorial myself but I did see gameplay of it, and from what I can judge it does an excellent job at teaching the player how to actually utilize their breakneck speed kit. I really hope someday in the future something can be done so that an SST tutorial stage would be possible; but that's wishful thinking and digressing in general.

Keeping the actual aesthetic feel of the in game tutorial was (a very easy choice to make) but a very pleasing one to look at, and not a single thing about the XSonic specific setups sticks out as off looking to me in the aesthetic.

I haven't seen maybe well thought out or mapped just "Lounge" maps on SRB2 in a long time despite having started playing this game around 4 years ago. The mode is slept on; just being able to log in and relax with friends, and for me at the very least Station-X brings exactly the thing I've thought was missing from casual hangout servers for a long time (and fixes a lot of the gripes I have with a good amount).

It's pretty open and fun to roam around in with practically every character, it's multipurpose in the sense of you could also use it as an SST stage, and my last, MAJOR praise towards such a minor thing:

The music toggles in the DJ building.

I can't stand listening to the same thing over and over again for an extended period of time, and I guess Boing couldn't either, because man did he think of that with in-game SENSORS for OTHER TRACKS.

Even aside Station-X, Thorndyke mansion got me so giddy running around it remembering scenes from the anime and even seeing Chris and co. I can also really appreciate the GSOptimenu usage in ALL of the pack. It makes hosting it no matter the mode so much easier.

I wish I could give this addon a four and a half because I WOULD if that were an option (or I'm just stupid and it is) as the things I don't mind are minor at best.

Part of me wishes there was more to run around and find in each map. Station-X has the subway and the music room but that's pretty much it asides from a few locations you can just stumble on by walking around. The only other thing I can name of having to search to find inside of these levels was Yamcha in a crater on the Cell Games Arena stage, and while it was funny I'm sad the little secrets ended there.

I also to this day still wish that at least some of the buildings in Station-X had stage destruction properties when being crashed into at a high speed, but as I said before that's pretty niche. (Though I can't help but imagine what destroying the inside of a building with a ringburst would be like..)

The last thing that comes to mind is something that's been addressed already is the lack of more than 4-5 music options, so I kept that out.

All in all? Much good. 👍

You can tell the quality of the maps with just the screenshots alone, they all work awesomely to try X-Sonic because of how open they are, and GOD that cell map is my favorite of all of 'em, i lost count of how many SST battles i did in that one.

I LOVE how you can enter to things like Chris's house (and bedroom!) or the disco at X-Station or the train station in that map too! (Also, that 06 song made me remember the good 'ol SF94 days, thanks for that.)
OH and about the songs, too. It's nice that you can change them in the disco. One little suggestion is that it'd be nice to put the vocal version of "Living in the City" as an option, instead of the instrumental one (or make it toggle-able so we have both options!

Overall, very cool pack, will definitely use these maps for hangouts and SST battles!

(Also what is Chris doing in the shadows in the house that jumpscared me LMAOO)

Happy I delivered with these! Cool to see some suggestions. that's what I was hoping for with these reviews, Thanks for writing this! In v1.2 more music options will be available! including a vocal version of "LITC". So your wish has been granted! Thanks again!

these are some very fun maps to run around in! the tutorial is fun, (i wouldn't have been able to learn how to use ring burst properly without it LOL) the dialogue is funny and charming. running and jumping around on the rooftops in x station is an absolute blast. the SST arenas are super cool. it's hard not to smile at all the little touches in thorndyke estate, and overall these maps are extremely well made and look great!

Use the level select to access the XPACK stages. You also can use the Ingame stage gates in the thorndyke mansion to get there.

This probably should of been in the default X Sonic mod (Mainly tutorial x) The levels are cool outside of that and a nice throw back for me.
