TA Tails Revamped v2.0.3c

  • Fixed an issue where Tails could softlock the Brak fight by picking up his electric barrier.
  • Made the glove function even if the level is finished (waiting for other players in multiplayer.)
  • Change some sprite names to have full rotation instead of a single rotation (this isn't new sprites, just adding better compatibility with models.)
  • Fixed an issue where the rolling balls would keep you in the corkscrew animation.
  • Fixed an issue where the pickup text wouldn't appear if you had "tapickup" toggled off or were controlling the robot.
  • Re-allowed the submarine to be summoned in boss stages.
    • There is currently an issue with the submarine where if you have no rings and take damage, you will die. I have no idea WHY this is happening but it is...
  • Added a fail safe to if the player is in the house menu and NOT touching the house mobj, the player can still exit the menu (Mostly only happens with Kou present)
Fixed an issue where for some reason, if TA was loaded along side RushChars and DeltaChars, the Fang boss would stop existing

I'm sure there's more but fixed an issue with the glove where if you picked up the claw or chain of a crushstacean, it would cause the game to SIGSEV. If anyone finds any more SIGSEV's with the glove powerup, PLEASE let me know!
This will be the last update for a bit unless something COMPLETELY game breaking happens.

  • Fixed an issue where if the robot completed a boss stage, the player would get softlocked.
  • Removed the robot's complete invincibility during boss stages and now has a health count, as long as hardmode is turned off.
    • If the robot loses all HP during the fight (or by a death pit or being crushed) the robot will have to repair itself and can't be used during this state.
  • A new command has been added "tarobothardmode" (default is off)
    • With hardmode turned off, the robot is unable to complete stages and is unable to hit checkpoints (wasn't intentional in the original 2.0 release and has been fixed) but is completely invincible during normal gameplay.
    • With hardmode enabled, if the robot dies, Tails also dies, however, the robot is able to activate checkpoints and can complete stages. The robot does not use health and instead uses rings as its health, like vanilla characters. (This essentially makes the robot a challenge mode)
  • The robot can now enter water and will only transform into a submarine upon pressing TossFlag (Idk what other button to use since Custom1 is the flight cancel, Custom2 puts Tails into the emote state, Custom3 puts Tails into the menu state, and Fire shoots a cork)
  • Fixed an issue where Fang could take 6 HP if you got shot by his corks, the robot, with its new health, will lose all 3 health however. THIS IS INTENTIONAL. It creates a bit of lore about how Fang is upset about the robot stealing one of his popguns

Fixed an issue in the special stages where the player could get softlocked if they got hit. Sorry about that.
Changed the button to open the house menu to Custom 1.
Added an on-screen prompt that tells the player how to open the house menu.
This update has taken quite some time. I'm not gonna list every change here as I completely remade the main page going over every change made to TA Tails.

TLDR:
Powerup count went from 6 -> 14
New animations and sprites
Shortened cooldowns
Added a pickup animation. This can be toggled off with "tapickup on/off"
Added a new chat emote, which also activates if you idle long enough
I can't remember all the changes but just know a lot of love went into this update!
I left the shoe powerup enabled when doing testing :) This is fixed now.
Also HOPEFULLY I squashed a bug with the menu bugging out in multiplayer special stages

- Fixed an issue with Napalm instantly killing bosses
--- As realistic as it is, this obviously isn't intended lol
- Added a check for if Tails has the shoes equipped and is super so he doesn't go godspeed. He's still incredibly fast, just not game breaking fast.
- Slightly reduced Tails' shoe powerup speed. (40 -> 39).
