Finally!!! my Sonic has officially pizza towered!

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this addon for Christmas from his uncle, so we installed it on his sonic robo blast 2 and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this addon, yikes! This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he kept on playing. So i decided to make a message board account and get this addon to see if I could maybe play alongside him. loaded into the addon, made my save file and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a lan game for me to join. loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died from L.I.G.M.A. This addon has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This addon reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories! :)

I have no absolute idea how he has become as fun as he is now, but it's for the better. Really love how you can chain together the Thok and the Bounce for some wild speed. Even if it replaces the bombs, it's for the better. The Pizza Tower TV is a neat little addition, too.

As for my only complaints, well... there's none, really! Unless you count how the Super State doesn't really have a proper TV animation (at least in the special stages) or the shield abilities not allowing the thok, it's nearly flawless. 10/10!

Hiya!! This is my review. I’m bad at intros.

Gameplay wise oh my god this guy is AMAZING. He feels so smooth and fun to control and there being no speedcap makes it even better, you can combo the thok and the bounce to achieve insane speeds and it is fun as fuck in big areas because you can just fly through any obstacle like it’s nothing, do not remove it. Pizza face didn’t stand a fuckin’ CHANCE.

This is one of the best experiences I’ve had with a character in a very long time, he feels very smooth to control and can be used for wacky speed building, even with his small moveset.

Alright so the art, it’s good!! I like the style and he looks very adorable, he’s so smol and I love him so much, however my main issue with him is that he doesn’t fit in with the SRB2 style, I’m not sure if this was intentional or not, but regardless that could be changed a bit. The line art is perfect and I wouldn’t change anything about it, but if you could shade it in to fit in with the rest it would be even better.
The TV sprites are really funny too and I like them alot, I wish he kept his adorable lil beady eyes throughout but it’s not that big of a deal. [SIDENOTE: the shield sprites for the TV are ADORABLE and i love them to pieces you outdid yourself with them!!] I also think the TV itself could be changed to not be the one from Pizza Tower, but that’s pretty much my only issue.

Overall: amazing character, I fucking love him, you outdid yourself.

(uhh… do we have a section where we praise a mod, and not rag on it? No? Oh, okay.)

yeah, uh, hi!! hello!! Welcome to the obligatory NTV section called: “i fucking love this mod to bits”!!
I’ll be tackling the gameplay side more compared to Avery’s section. It’s pretty fun!! Bounce and Momentum Jump Thok mix so well together that i often do it on straight paths because sonki very faste. Love the mach speed idea, though not really useful since it takes a bit to build up, and strafe has issues with turning (I have to look entirely back to actually turn but I don’t mind!!).

from the art standpoint I ADORE THE SPRITEWORK, ALL THE LITTLE THINGS MAKE ME GO “:]” the TV having sprites for certain situations like being underwater or when having a shield on!! All the little things on the fella are perfect, the expressions, the animations, the squash and stretch are super coole!! literally there’s nothing bad i can write about Sonki!! I think we can move on to the rating now.

if next update makes us able to do almost all the other pizza tower moves (diving, super-jumping, taunting/parrying, climbing, etc), this will be top priority in my srb2 main list (list of who i main (play the most))

if you added taunting (parrying too pretty please), some snick refrences, and being able to kill badniks while going mach speed, this would be my favorite mod.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG ok but fr this remake is FIRE. I didn't expect the pizza tower tv, overall a 10/10

10/10 mod right here. That scream caught me off guard so hard.

But in all seriousness aside from that this is a great remake. I especially like that now there's no speedcap to the jumpthok. And I like that there's even a little bit of Sonic Adventure here with the bounce.

oh hey it's sonki, jokes aside this character plays really well, his thok combined with the bouncing can help out reach higher areas and maintain good speed over the courses, he can also turn pt style when there is a wall on the way to quickly go into other directions, i also love the tv hud showing the animations when you do certain things, it's a great addon and i hope that the talez remake will also be as good as this one.
