[Open Assets] Ova Sonic v2.1

This mod is really cool. Weirdly, the thing I like the most is the wallrun. Despite me initially thinking it might be janky, it feels snappy and responsive, and never feels out of control or otherwise inconsistent.

2.1 update really fixed things up with the momentum changes and sprites, very great

Such a simple moveset, yet so broken. Cuts most playthroughs in half if you learn how to control this speedy bunch of sprites, which is pretty simple. The only thing that needs work is the sprites, to be honest. But aside from that, my new favourite mod.

All you really had to do was fix the eye placement, but man these new sprites are great.
but the air ability still has that grating sound, and it kills any momentum when used.

This mod it's pretty fun to play with, but i have some problems.
1º- The sprites are fine but some of them are weird, like the idle sprite from the back, otherwise the falling sprite from the front it's pretty awesome.
2º- The peelout doesnt work properly.

So, I recommend this mod pretty much, specially for online, it's pretty fun!

Maybe make the run Sprite look like modern and dashmode the loop as he does that in the ova movie

his sprites still look weird.
and his air ability kills all horizontal momentum, leaving it unsatisfying.

pretty simple mod, i like how it feels like an action based vertical moveset, too bad the movest itself don't take much inspiration due to the fact some of the idea for it, were already taken by junio sonic, would also wish the sprites to be more expressive.

A good sonic. but the super spin sound is far too grating.
Hopefully we can get an update that changes it.

the super spin fell from grace. It may no longer destroy your ears, but it kills any momentum you had prior to using it. unlike in previous versions where it had you hover in the last direction you were moving and keeping the movement flow and making a more satisfying character in the process.
but I guess it was a glitch or something. because of course something I liked about a mod gets removed.
the launch distance is pretty good though not gonna lie.

...why was dashmode removed?
it was the ONLY thing that made this sonic be fast.

I think the moveset is fine but i think you should fix the sprites up or just make them pixel art because you seem to be super good at it.

The sprites are okay but the pixel art is more faithful to the original ova sonic imo
And the dashmode was gone so I added back in the sprites and dashmode
Could be better if u removed the noise of the super spin and the wall run being annoying to control

tbh I prefer v1-v1.3 more than this, out of junio, hesse, and ova, ova looks the most cursed

The mods gameplay is unique and well designed, but the new 2.0 sprites are a downgrade to say the least.

Peelout removed, run sprites are slow, mobile wallrun still doesn't work

Peelout was never removed the mod itself never had peelout. I am aware that in the ova he does indeed have it.
