A lot of people say:

Let me tell ya,
It takes about EVERY vanilla color in game and turn it into something fancier than ever! And that's only about it. It puts the real significance into the color, meaning that, it would follow the colors from the real object mentioned in their name!
But hold on a minute, that's not only it. It comes with a secondary each color!
Let me explain.
Primary follows what would be the texture of fur, to say at least.
So these are more recommended to characters whose has recolorable clothing or fur such as Sonic or Eggman.
However, some may look good on Metal! Who knows!
FANCY!
As obvious it may seem now.
Secondary were made for Metal texture.
Meaning that these are more recommended to Metallic characters such as Metal Sonic.
They shine way much more, that's for sure a fact!
And some of them may look good on fur characters too!
