Equinox

Equinox 1.0.1

Paying my respects. This has been my favorite 2.2 level pack. I wanted to declare this three years ago but I thought I was caught up in the honeymoon phase. Nope. This was the most memorable experience.

this is quite literally the best mod for anything ever

There is something about this levelpack that keeps me coming back.
The atmosphere is impeccable, the level design is very different from anything else I've played in a really good way, the environments are full of detail and life. Genuinely my favorite map pack in SRB2

The level design of this map pack is amazing, its so fun to play through.

What stops me from giving it a five is that this map pack can't be completed in multiplayer, because the last level "equinox" in the game requires you to be teleported to the final boss, but that function only works in the single player campaign.
There is also some lag with the space level but other than those gripes, I would still recommend this level pack for anyone who wants to play something unique.

Pretty great level design, and the plot is BIG lol.

Currently my favorite game I've played this year, up to my fifth playthrough as of writing.
I've really been enjoying taking different characters through this and relearning the levels; I'm still finding a lot of little surprises everywhere (like hidden Hee Hees that put a smile on my face). The art and music are excellent and I see and hear a lot of love everywhere I look and listen. You listed the modtracker artists you curated from, would you be able to list the songs used at some point?
My only solid complaint is the final boss.
The final boss is a bit of a difficulty spike and isn't a very dynamic fight- I've had varying success with different characters but what usually happens is I hide behind the goblet platform, wait to remove it, and find an entry point on the boss. The horde of matryoshka dolls can close in quickly while the boss is preparing a hitscan, and with few other places to hide it's quite easy to lose the five rings given for the fight for good if things go wrong; and the conditions and arena layout are quite intense to make it through with no rings. I've also had the boss' attack straight up ignore walls I'm hiding behind on some playthroughs. A better balanced final fight is all I'd need to give this five stars.
On a separate note, is it possible to get a Super form for this pack? I've only found two emerald tokens, and while I need seven there are only five levels. I'm still relatively new to SRB2, can I replay levels and get the same tokens again to get new emeralds? I'd love to explore this with a Super character.
Very much looking forward to Zodiac whenever 2.3 comes out.

As others have said, wacky story (though very interesting in that regard), but also a nice level design with neat references. Looking forward to the future second episode!

I really enjoyed this map pack! The story was wacky and the maps were fun. I encountered a crash fighting the final boss, but it was still a good experience overall.

I love everything about it. The wacky story, the level design, the graphics, the music choices. Even with it's short length, it still is very fun to replay.

Lovably absurd, well designed, and visually distinct.

I had an overall bad experience with this level pack, i played it with some friends and clearly this wasn't meant for multiplayer

You're a better level designer than a boss designer, that's for sure.
However the amount of charm and effort into this wacky mod FAR makes up for the confusing ending.
These have some of my favorite levels made for this game so far. You really put the ART in ARTEMIS. These level are great on a technical level, and have a lot of passion into them.
We truly live in the best SRB2 timeline, where we get to witness packs with incredibly amount of personality like this, Creative Worlds, and Sol Sesentcia (and all of Roger's levels too for that matter.)

...But also why would Rasputin EVER side with Soviet Russia. Even if they came back and revived him, Rasputin was very close to the Romanov family, and even if the Soviet Union revived him, he would reasonably have a deep hatred for the political side who wiped out the entire bloodline of people he loved.

Almost the whole map pack is cool! Except for the final boss because I can't beat him because for some reason the game doesn't tell you what you need to do....either way this mod is great!

sonic and friends go on a usual wacky adventure and do their usual wacky things, nothing out of the norm, perfectly safe sonic game

This is possibly one of the trippiest mods I've ever played for the game.

I cannot take the story seriously. I mean, the premise is fucking nuts. "The wacky Sonic Heroes go out to discover atlantis, witness a communist takeover, and are sent to kill Rasputin at the behest of god", and the dialogue tells it as if it were a fuckin biblical-tier legend, which is too funny imo.

As for the maps themselves, they ooze with detail and atmosphere. A lot of them are straightforward, paced well, and have a bunch of little moments that make them instantly memorable.

I can't find much wrong with the levels themselves, except maybe one of them overstays their welcome (and a little confusing); but even then, with 5 maps, it's a pretty minor criticism in the grand scheme of things.

I can't wait to see what kind of batshit insane stuff akirahedgehog has for us next, it'll definitely be something to look forward to.

Aw yeah.
I missed your new level in the last OLDC, so lucky me, here it is, plus a whole bunch more in a full episode.

Great stuff, love all the real world legends and lore used as a basis and go completely nuts with it. Nice mix between realistic and abstract madness.
Just a darn shame the mod crashes so often, but the levels are huge and you do crazy stuff with them, so it's understandable.
So many new tricks and gimmicks I've never seen before in SRB2 and didn't know were possible. Very educational for me too.
Intense atmosphere too.

But yeah, one word of warning for other folk playing this mod (At least in this early original release), there's a glitch where if you play a hockey minigame in one level, the final boss' shield can't be broken. So if you played the Hockey minigame, best quit the game after finishing the level and restart, then the final boss should work properly again.
That guy is hard enough to beat without that glitch.
Fraid the boss is the main reason why the rating loses a star, not too fond of him, especially when the game crashes on top of everything.

Still, major props for designing and programming an entire new boss with unique gimmick, lot of work. At least there's a fun silly reward for when you finally take him down.

But yeah, mostly great stuff, love it.
Heh, that horses running gag is great.
