This is a very simple lua script I whipped up out of inspiration from Crash Bandicoot 4 (the recent one, not that other one).
This replaces the lives counter with a "deaths" counter, which records the amount of times you died. This also gives the player no life counter, ergo you can die as many times you want during a level.
!! NOTICE !!
This may act funny with custom HUD mods, especially ones that use lua, due to the fact it removes the lives counter on player spawn.
