BoostFX V2

  1. Yes
BoostFX is a cosmetic mod that allows you to change the color of your boost flame and sneaker trails!

bfx_flamecolor affects your engine boostflame, as well as your Grow/Invincibility fx if you chose a color cycle.
bfx_trailcolor affects sneaker trails, either from items or boost pads.
bfx_linecolor affects fast lines, from either sneakers, boost panels, or drift boosts.
bfx_info tells you what your current setup is.

Use one of the color commands and either a valid skincolor for a static color, Player for your skincolor, Inverted for the inverse of your skincolor, or Trans/Nonbinary/Ace/Bi/Pan/Polyam for pride-themed color cycles! Color cycle options also affect Grow and Invincibility effects for bfx_flamecolor, giving them a unique flair!

BoostFX will also create a .cfg file in /luafiles where you can set your color ahead of time. This allows you to play with your preferred color on BoostFX-hosted servers.

Pretty dang solid. Adds a little flair to everyone's karting experience. I don't have much else to say besides that, it's that simple.

Works exactly as advertised.
Kinda wish the bfx_color command actually saved to the .cfg file though, instead of requiring you to edit it manually outside of the game for it to have any effect.
And maybe in the future this mod could apply to more effects, like the wind from boosting? Though not sure how possible that is.

It is possible, actually! Would have to write code for MT_FASTLINES, but a simple addition nonetheless :)
