Boost

[Open Assets] Boost v1.1

Really good Theres just a few problems 1. The boost trail breaks and turns into w h i t e So i reccomend making the boost trail try to be the normal boost effect at all times 2. is the hud This isnt really much of a problemo but uhh if you could just move it to the bottom right corner straight bottom that'd be AMAZING!

This is a god boost mod and the only one I can find but how do I make it so only one char can boost

My only problem is that if you load this with the light speed dash mod, they don't work properly together because they take up the same action. Maybe make it Custom 1 instead?

Type "boostcmd CUSTOM1" in the console. It will set the boost button to it and save your preferences for the next time you load the mod. Check the original post for a list of all the buttons you can use. It's currently case sensitive so do not type "boostcmd custom1" or such.

Plays great and effects are really good too

Add this speed with Logic Sonic's dash mode AND Xmomentum it will become Archie Sonic speed lol. Anyway great LUA, it's sprites are good, only problem is the color variant of the trail it could be greater if the trail color is similar to the character's skin.

i see the direction you're going with the mod, overall its a fun mod but it felt "too fast" imo and with SF_DASHMODE its too much and doesn't seem intended. i like that every character can use it and it made it feel like sonic rush, but id say add visual effects to make it look and feel fast and lower the speed and it actually doesn't break dashmode. The keybinding option is great and love that it saves. i liked it but small little things that made it hard to want to play with without tweaking. i took away the ability to use it in the air or after hitting a spring or while using an ability and lowered the speed by 1. i love the mod and glad to see it exists just minor tweaks could make this a really fun mod!

The mod is great and really broken but I wish you can crank up the speed to make it even more broke lol
Nice LUA

honestly i'm straight down the middle with this one. on one hand, i did really enjoy it, it's structurally and fundamentally a great boost mod, it's surprisingly a lot of fun to mess around with, and visually it has a lot of flair. however, i feel like a lot of the polish put into this mod was purely the visual design. the boost does not react well to springs at all, oftentimes leading to me missing a platform because the boost didn't stop on a diagonal spring, as well as it oddly being able to be spammed in mid-air. that, and while the boost trail looks great, it's really the only distinct visual aspect about it, compared to games like sonic generations where there are a lot of visually and audibly striking elements to starting off and preserving a boost.

overall, fundamentally great, just a few minor aspects that really bring it down. love the keybinding options though.

(side note, was it really necessary to disable crossmomentum's physics alterations while this mod is active? i feel like that's a big misstep, i would've personally loved to be able to achieve some bullshit high speeds with these mods working in tandem.)

Thanks for this feedback... I will try to implement a cooldown for the boost, plus an extra effect for starting off the boost for v2.

Its a boost and a good one. my only problem is that the boost bar doesn't work in multiplayer and constantly spits out an error.

Alright, fixed it in v1.1!

I don't know why boostcmd's inputs are case sensitive, but welcome to releases!
