My first character mod!

Introducing the Drone, from Avorion.
Without further ado, let's get to the abilities.

First up, you'll see that you have to meters, Energy and Health.

Both can be refilled by collecting rings. Energy drains by using your abilities, health drains by taking damage.
Half of your energy is refilled upon landing, and it regenerates over time while on the ground.

Flight: Hold down the jump button anytime while in the air.

Boost: Hold Custom 1 for a burst of speed!

Hover: Custom 2.

Lasers: Fire Normal

Be sure to use your energy wisely.

Anyway, I hope you have just as much (or more) fun using the mod as I did making it.

Credit to https://mb.srb2.org/addons/tails-guy.542/ Since I learned how to make player variables and use the HUD and MobjDamage functions by looking at some of the code.

Latest reviews

To keep it short, this is a bizarre idea. However, this is better than some of the other "first character" mods I've seen.

PROS:
- Controls decently
- Good abilities
- Energy bars balance out his flight.

CONS:
- Sprites are bad
- He attracts rings, making the HP system not that much of a challenge
- Boosting on land doesn't take out any of your energy which makes it a bit OP
- The energy bar's placement looks weird. Sure it makes you not have to look at anything else but it'd be nice if it were on the hud.

CONCLUSION:
2.3/5

Bizarre idea? Yes.

I know the sprites are pretty terrible, I'll be updating them eventually.
Things like boosting and health need additional balancing, which is why I'm interested in feedback like this.
The energy and health bars will be replaced with proper bars (instead of numbers) and be moved to the bottom of the screen.

I don't understand this one, He has health when it barely even comes into play? He has a projectile when almost all enemies take 1 or 2 hits to kill? He has..... a hover of custom 2 for some reason? This addon doesn't make any sense

I guess the hover is a bit pointless. I'll definitely try to balance out the health system in future updates.

The moves are cool I like it and the sprites aren't that bad

Thanks! When making the sprites, I used screenshots from the game I based the character off of, scaled them down, reduced the color, and cleaned them up a lot. I may go back and update the sprites when my skills improve.
