Where do i start...I've been following the progress of SA-Sonic months ago, and post after post, i was even more excited than before, and sprite after sprite, i was suprised when you two started doing this, thank you for making SA-Sonic the BEST mod ever.
As for the character...After completing the game already 3 times with him, i can say that this is the best character i've ever played, no doubt, it even suprassed my expectations way too much, he is literally perfection. When i started playing, i felt that feeling i got when i played the Adventure games for the first time, that JOY, and it really is outstanding, congrats for you two to make such a mod, 20/10.

Tho, since i play a lot with my brothers in coop, it WOULD be cool to have a "samenu" but for player two, since the second player cannot use that menu, but i dont mind that much

This is without a doubt, one of the best addons on message board in my opinion. The moves are fun but balanced, the spriting and animations are incredible, and it's packed to the brim with the same charm from the Adventure games! I played the full vanilla SRB2 campaign, and it was the most fun I've had with SRB2 in a while!

Outstanding work! And the quote really lives up to its name, I was expecting an Adventure Sonic playstyle, and that's what I got! 5/5, great mod! I have nothing to complain about! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more of your mods in the future!

It's hard to say something that the mod did well that other people didn't said. This mod mobilized the entire community because of the incredible amount of detail, quality, love and accuracy put in this mod. All this effort is already recognized and certainly will print your names in the history of SRB2.

Now let's talk about the mod itself. I will be talking about keyboard gaming here.

I loved the momentum building, it's so rewarding getting faster and faster and getting cool particles. Also, the thok boost is very useful to immediatly build momentum and change his direction, which is very cool for keyboard gaming.

Also, spindashing it is as pleasant as in Sonic Adventure 1, and that little dots that indicate your direction is a extremely helpful feature. In normal SRB2, sometimes i miss some speedruns because i get trolled by the direction of the spindash.

Speaking of normal SRB2, sometimes plataforming is a bitch there. With SA-Sonic, this problem doesn't exist. The ledge thing, the bounce move and the momentum canceller are life savers that put Mystic's levels to cry about it. My only complaint here is that sometimes the ledge thing is
activated in moments that i didn't want, specially when i spindash or go fast in higher places, losing all momentum.

And i don't need to talk deeply about the sprites and animations. I have 2 words that describe them: handsome and perfectionist.

This is a essential mod for SRB2, 10/10 and i have two words for you: Congra tulations.

The ledgestop mechanic is activated by either braking or letting go off the stick. Hopefully knowing that helps you out? By all means, let me know if it's still too sensitive.

I don't think I've seen an SRB2 mod get this popular.

In this case, it's well deserved as it's criminal that this mod feels better to control than simple mode *itself*, and the nods to the adventure series are numerous and welcomed.

That's to say I have some criticisms.

- Not a fan of the SA1 Light Dash. I like the Spam Dash, but there probably should've been an option to toggle between SA1 Spam Dash and SA2 Light Dash.
- The extra move is NiGHTS mode is actually terrible. NiGHTs mode has some really poor visibility, and this move exacerbates it by having you go really fast, allowing you to get blindsided by stuff offscreen you can't see until it is too late. On top of that, the move removes your ability to brake, that's awful, especially in SS6 & 7 where braking is *required* in order to navigate some of the tougher sections.
- Don't know how I feel about the alternate playstyles. I've only played a few seconds in these alternate playstyles and they don't quite feel right. Might just be me, though.

Other than those quirky crits. This is probably one of the best mods I've played since Shadow and Mario, the sprites and animations are fantastic, and the gameplay puts simple mode to *shame*.

It was important for SA-Sonic to be simple and pick-up-and-play, so there are no alternate playstyles/gameplay changes. All options are cosmetic, spin smoothing's the only thing affecting gameplay, mostly as a bone for keyboard-only users/SRB2 purists.

In NiGHTS, pressing jump and spin together uses energy for an instant brake attack. Did you stop playing the NiGHTS stages before you got to stage 7?

*Let's Rock!*

This mod oozes with love and care, and isn't willing to break the norm. It recreates so much of the actual Adventure games, and sometimes decides to throw on even more. And guess what? He isn't terribly broken. This guy might rise to my favorite mod!

Very well made and very fun to play, its probably the most fun I have had running through zones as sonic. He feels like a perfect combination of very heavy, and feather light. I just think that perhaps the menu function could be better explained in game.

Okay, so this addon was really worth the hype. It's one of the best things to come out of this game, and the kind of mod that first got me into its modding scene. I love every single bit of it!
I've got some suggestions though:
*Make an option to have an SA2 style Light Dash, so instead of charging up you can just tap Spin to dash. This would make it way more useful. Also possibly a Somersault option? It isn't the most useful thing, specially in SRB2, but it would be neat to see, specially if it came with its fire upgrade and could break Knuckles walls or something.
*Make Sonic able to use jump abilities from springs. You're able to do this in the Adventure games, or at least SA1, I'm not so sure about SA2.
*This one is a minor thing, but it's an idea I had that could be pretty dope. If you have an Attraction or Lightning Shield, it would be neat if the Light Speed Attack's trail changed to the one from Sonic Heroes' Team Sonic Team Blast.

This mod is just simply amazing.
The fact that the mod just reeks of the SA2 playstyle is insane, from the spriting to the abilities and the little things that makes this mod an amazing art of work. Great job MetalWario64, Golden Shine and everyone who has supported this as much as I did.
For people who want a bit Sonic Adventure in their SRB2, I would definitely give this a try.

This addon closely resembles the sa1 sonic in abilitys and looks more like sa2 but overall this is the high light of this year

SA-Sonic is every bit the legend he was supposed to be when it came out. There are no words to discuss how grateful we are, Metalwario, Golden Shine, and everyone else who helped work on this masterpiece. This alone helps prove why Sonic Robo Blast 2 is the definitive sonic fangame, and how bright its future is moving forward. Now let's Live & Learn from this and continue to Open our Hearts out! this is THE quintessential SRB2 mod. it's packed with so much attention to detail from the sonic adventure series, from the integrity of the movesets to little things here and there. i've personally had a ton of fun either messing around, speedrunning, finding new tricks here and there and overall having an absolute blast.
the sprites are fucking fantastic, hats off to metalwario's excellent skills as a spriter. back in november 2020 they didn't look super appealing, but now i can happily say they look phenomenal, extremely detailed and very faithful to the original games' energy. ESPECIALLY super sonic, those were by far the best looking sprites in the entire package.
obviously the gameplay side of things is also extremely polished and fun. this is a character that is extremely easy to grab onto with a simple two button moveset, but has a ton of tiny details and attributes that allow for a totally different playstyle to emerge for every person. i, personally, am a big spindashing and far-thokking fan, and prefer to spend a lot of time on the ground. i do also love the little extra speedrunning additions that were really just added for fanservice, like the floatier gravity when holding jump while spinning off a ledge, or the superbounce.

overall jesus christ this mod is fantastic please play it idk if anything i've said is cohesive

I have no words. This is just outstanding. The momentum, air drag and all the different moves feel so natural and awesome to use. And the little things like ledge grabs and the victory poses make this mod so much more alive. 5 out of 5. Great Work GoldenShine and Metalwario64!
