While not perfect in every aspect, this iteration of Ringslinger is much more fun than the post-v2.0 incarnation. It's much more "jump right in and play" than the new one, which encourages professional play. Modern Ringslinger comes with a side effect in which it's much harder to catch up once you've fallen behind, often leaving the player feeling hopeless. This is a problem with most arena shooters as well as SRB2 Battle, as fun as the latter is. The simple mechanics behind this iteration of Ringslinger make it skill-based but still a heck ton of fun for newer or inexperienced players. Overall, if you think Ringslinger caters to much to the experienced player or just want to have some robo-blastin' fun, this is the best way to do it.
