Team Prismatic (Mystic Realm: Community Edition)

So, I played lock-on mode and for some reason when I beat Metal Sonic he turned into a tree and the fight wouldn't end so I cant progress. I tried 3 times and it happened every time.

It has to be a load order issue because I tried the fight again with all of my addons disabled and it worked fine.
I then tried it again loading mystic realm first and then all of my addons afterwards and it worked fine.
Tried it again with all of my addons loaded before mystic realm and I got the tree again.
I have no idea which addon is causing it but I guess just make sure to load mystic realm first to be safe

I am not really feeling the new design . It’s like slope city in this bitch 😭
I like “haha funny pinball physics go brrr” as much as the next guy but you can’t just spam slopes everywhere. I know it’s a work progress but I thought it was worth mentioning. I’m mostly only seen the w.i.p for flame rift so I hope other stages will have more precise platforming

As someone who grew up playing the original games on the Sega Genesis it helps to note just how Sonic levels were originally designed. Slope-heavy geometry was already a common occurrence in Sonic 1 and the so-called automatic sections with bumpers and springs were introduced in Sonic 2. In fact, it was among the things marketed by Sega back in the day as an argument to pull players away from Mario and the SNES.

The main issue concerning SRB2 though is that the way the code handles slopes is not as robust as it can be. Until last year, making heavy use of slopes was laborious and time-consuming (so polishing the implementation on how it interacts with characters was not as critical), it is natural that UDMF would've increased their use.

It happened to me too
this is mostly an issue with addon overload and happens when too many things are added. I's mostly been fixed in v2.2.14 however

Anyway you can expect the full version of v0.6 to be a big update, much of what we've been working on recently cannot be fully released until v2.2.14 fully drops. Beyond that however, we are finally making our approach on finishing the main 7 zones. The biggest task that yet remains is to whip up a few wip demos into a playable state and do something with agz. There is an unreleased demo for an agz1 remake that is currently on indefinite hiatus however, hopefully someday soon that can see the light of day (or at least the light of a monitor). Currently, all 7 main emerald stages have demos in some state of progress, ntc is incomplete but playable, while slp is being worked on. In addition to all of frz being updated, jcz1, spz1, mfz2, and svc are also being updated, with intentions to likely bring the new mechanics to jcz2 in the future. As part of the frz update, frz3 has also received a new boss as well.
