You do realize this is only a port right? Also, I never used this stage, because...That gif of Speed Highway looks extremely similar to the one in IFrickBees1's Demo 2 Remastered mod, the only differences I have found are the enemies being cut, the majority of the level being cut, and the different textures. Not to mini-mod or anything but you might possibly get in trouble when you release the mod on the mb and someone finds out about this since Demo 2 Remastered is not reusable.View attachment 55806

Note to the mods and admins, I've been aware of this project for several months now. a WIP does exist and I want to see where this goes. I have not given formal permission for this project, but the way I look at SRB2 the Past, as long as they put in the work, they can release their port and any enhancements they add to it. Despite SRB2 the Past 2.0 getting closer to completion.

What multiplayer stuff?in the Museum Map? It was the old method of opening up stuff in multiplayer before the multiplayer mode trigger existed.

Sorry to reply on a post that's half a month old, but what is SRB2TPDX?Hey everyone! It's Soup here! And I am announcing publicly that a new project based on SRB2TP will be made!
(WARNING! TL;DR: FEEL FREE TO IGNORE THIS!)
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Before explaining details, it should be worth mentioning that this was indeed under covers for a couple months now. More specifically, in the SRB20YA server. Unfortunately, some stuff shared in the threads were lost due to a 2-week kick which I won't specify because it will aggravate the situation. This alternate version was created a few days prior to when SRB2TP 2.0 was announced publicly thanks to teaser images, which if you haven't checked, please take your time to do that. When this sort of stuff was revealed, many people were kinda excited. As for Glaber, he was perfectly OK with this project and such. I made it clear that this wasn't made to steal from Glaber and he and everyone agreed.
Out of boredom, I decided that to not stretch the development further. I decided to release a Halloween demo (which I've noticed it's kind of a common practice lol). Unfortunately, it was kind of a mistake because I knew the hype was gonna make me late on some IRL stuff, but KrazeeTobi (owner of the said server) and Ricardo AJP were kind enough to volunteer and help the project boost, and so I agreed. He made a channel exclusive for beta testing, a build was shared and there was a netgame hosted for it. Needless to say, it was chaotic (in a good way of course).
Some stuff were being shared, postpones kinda happened due to you-know-what... But then, when I got kicked, development stopped. There were too much drama going on and IRL stuff to keep me going which lead to me being completely screwed. Not to mention, the beta testers probably left afterwards, as if the situation hasn't aggravated enough. Now that I am alone, it's safe to say that the build(s) will be split into patches for each day until the next demo comes out. This is possibly the only way the demo gets saved. I shouldn't worry about this type of stuff, but I knew this would sabotage my project. So sorry if this got a bit derailed. Anywho, let's move on!
Here's some FAQs about this project:
Q1: Is this made in response to SRB2TP 2.0?
A1: Like I have mentioned, this was made PRIOR to when stuff was revealed publicly about 2.0. Back then, SRB2 2.0 was kind of a port (w/ ACZ & reworked objects) of the original, but during some time, stuff was planned and it was all hype. So no.
Q2: Is this a portleg of some sorts?
A2: No, Glaber's project is about 95% reusable. The other 5 are for low effort portlegs that Glaber didn't consent to. (ahem- gamebanana -AHEM!-) And he was totally OK with the project as previously mentioned.
Q3: Are you stealing from Glaber?
A3: ABSOLUTELY NOT, THIS ISN'T BEING SNATCHED AWAY BEHIND HIS BACK IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM POSSIBLE. (sorry for caps, kinda important notice)
Q4: Is there any way I could be a beta tester?
A4: Absolutely! I am currently looking for beta testers for my project, some are being chosen based on talents and careers. I can't recruit anybody at the moment, but after 1 or 2 patches are released I will make some sort of survey. (wink wink ;) )
Q5: Can I be a developer?
A5: Depends honestly. While it will mostly consist of reusable content like 2.0, I don't have trusts for anyone to be in at the moment. I am currently looking for beta testers, level porters, mode revampers, LUA & SOC coders, and skin programmers. It will be hard, so a patch will be made after a couple of demos and some other thingamajigs with new faces on the team.
Q6: Is there any new content being released?
A6: Definitely. Although, give me some time, the Halloween demo is only the VERY tip of the iceberg of when it's to come. Details coming up anytime soon.
Q7: Why was this project made?
A7: Intially made out of boredom, but it's having some development now. It will pay much more homage to the old SRB2 builds individually. And will feature additional individual content and WIPs, like new LUAs, PK3s and SOCs based on extra modes, character skins, custom objects, archives, etc... (note: this was already planned since the very beginning)
Q8: Like SRB2TP 2.0, is this reusable?
A8: Obviously. Otherwise, nothing regarding it would be reusable. Feel free to make some mods and other stuff. However, I am not too certain about the future.
