Ring Racers Suggestions

I think this game could do without forcing you to drop items when you take hits from explosives. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I really cannot understand the point of taking away a player's item if they get hit. It just comes off as needlessly cruel and punishing, especially for anyone in last place.

also can we like. Make Death Egg 50% shorter online? I understand the difficulty in grand prix, but it's just so tedious and exhausting having to commit to an eight minute track of unrelenting torment and frustration when playing online.

Racer Suggestion:
Please Add Clutch the Opossum in DRRR

I should be able to save a replay even if I came in last. For some reason the option just isn't there?
(If I finish in low standing I'm still prompted to save a replay, but if I fail to finish (and my kart explodes) I just can't do it)
Also, turns out, if you finish below good standing, the option to save a replay does appear, but the replay doesn't actually save when you use it. Why?
I second this. I had a pretty crazy single-player Grand Prix race that, even though I lost, I wanted to save a replay because of how crazy the race was. But the game wouldn't let me as it railroaded me into restarting the race. This also sometimes happens in online multiplayer as well, but it is inconsistent. Sometimes if I ended up in last place in an online race, the game won't let me save a replay, while other times, it will only stop me from saving a replay until the race results screen shows up.
I haven't had the game fail to save a replay if I finished in the bottom half of the pack, but didn't get last place. That's not to say it's impossible, but I personally have had replays fail to save with either the "NET CONSISTENCY QUALITY" or the "BUFFER SIZE (MB)" settings on their default settings.

Also, I would be very thankful if we could be allowed to change the name of already saved replays. I don't have the best typing speed and about a third of my replays end up with default names because I couldn't decide on a name or finish typing in a name in time. And before anyone says anything; yes, I did try renaming the replay file itself in File Explorer, but that has no effect. They will still show up with their original name despite changing the replay's filename even after restarting the game/system.

Small Suggestion: Add the Genesis Diamond Dust Act 1 remix from Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games (And also used in Sonic Dash) as an alternative music for Said Track.

(Before you ask, I already know how to mod music in the game, but I'm suggesting it to be added to the base game)

I keep forgetting this thread exists, but here's something I've had in mind for a while: What if you could limit how many colors appear on screen at once when picking a color in the character select screen? This would be helpful for when you have all the spray cans unlocked, as the game slows down a LOT when you have that many sprites on screen, especially when changing characters mid-race (I can't speak for everyone but I experience this a lot, and I can imagine others do too). You could limit it to only display, for example, the next 5 or so colors adjacent to the one you're currently hovering over. Hope this makes sense

In time attack, I think it would be nice to have an indicator of which character has best best overall time (regardless of stats).

Next to BEST LAP and BEST TIME could simply be the character's icon.

It would also be handy to be able to view the replay of the best lap/time overall

Like the replay staff, you could cycle through either your current character's replay or the overall best replay

Can someone explain what the purpose of the instawhip is? It feels like the feature exists only to needlessly benefit people in first and punish anyone trying to catch up.

It's more useful in battle and prison modes. When you whip someone in battle, you get a point and also steal one bumper from them. In prisons they can also be used to smash them and useful when you don't have a gachabom on your hand.

In the context of battle mode, it does make sense! I agree. In Racing, however, it feels so weird and out of place to me. Like I'm being punished for going faster than someone... in a racing game.

I mean... why are you getting close to someone, or letting them get close to you, when you can see them charging the instawhip? The thing is, the instawhip is only usable when you have 0 rings, and keeping it charged sends you into ring debt. It's a highly risky and highly rewarding option for someone who's used up all their rings, and someone who's really good at the game is gonna get a lot of reward out of it. If you can nail them with an item, either they'll spend their instawhip to block it and need to recharge, or it'll knock 'em right out- not to mention, if you can manage to run into them, that'll make them spin out too. Regardless of how you feel it fits, it is a mechanic in the game, and the best thing to do if it's causing you so much trouble is to learn how to avoid getting hit by it.
