Reveries

Reveries f7b

What's SRB2Classic? I've never heard of that until now.

Unrelated, but I also have a few suggestions for this mod if the creator is reading this.
  • Can you allow Tails & Knuckles to use the Super Peel Out and the Drop Dash as well, since they don't currently have anything in their place? For Knuckles it should be as easy as copying code/animations, but for Tails it may prove more difficult.
  • Can Fang's Bomb Throw be added and usable by pressing the Shield Button on the ground (like the Super Peel Out or Amy's Hammer Twirl)? The animation for it already exists in the game's files.
  • Speaking of Amy's Hammer Twirl, can Amy's original Hammer animation be added as a transition between the Hammer Twirl and the Hammer Spin by pressing the Spin Button during a Hammer Twirl? Pressing the Spin Button during the Hammer Twirl currently does nothing, so I feel this'd be a good way to reimplement her original ability in a way that compliments the new move set.
  • Lastly, because of the new slope launch physics, the intended routes in vanilla levels (such as the slope in GFZ Act 2 launching you directly in the middle of a circle of Rings) aren't possible to reach. Could there be a way to make the new slope launch physics only apply to Running and not Spinning so you get the best of both worlds?

candelavla updated Reveries with a new update entry:

F5A: Tricks & Treats

While I don't really plan on adjusting the characters much anymore, Sonic's peelout trick has been drastically underperforming and it's been bothering me for a while. The peelout is a situational move in the first place, and using the trick typically didn't offer much benefit for the effort needed to pull it off. Also there's Metal Sonic over there, his dashmode trick offered a ridiculous amount of speed for free that was often way too fast to even work well with SRB2's level design. Along...

just saw that i was the 3rd message in this thread, i've been with this addon since the start, LOL (because it's great!!). anyway, i think screen shake when using the drop boost while super sonic would be a neat little addition, and having it toggle able with a console command would be nice for the people who don't want it

how do i make it so model interpolation isn't on every time i start the damn thing? the model pack i use just looks ugly with interpolation on and i'm tired of having to turn it off every time i play

That's weird, it should save. Maybe because of an old config having an invalid value for it? Try opening up reveries.cfg in your SRB2 folder, ctrl+f for the line gr_modelinterpolation and change its value to gr_modelinterpolation "Off"

I set it to "Off" (with the capital O) and saved it. When I started the game again, it was suddenly on again; I went into the config again, and it was set to "On". I am very confused; my SRB2 appears to be sentient.

Okay, I looked into this and it's actually a very dumb bug caused by unwanted 2.2.16 code. My build's codebase is a bit ahead of 2.2.15, and one of the upstream changes STJr made was removing the "Always" model interpolation setting, making the new settings only On and Off. I didn't pay any attention to this because I had actually already made the same change in my build since "Always" is busted.

However, what I overlooked is that they also added a bit of code that forcibly resets the gr_modelinterpolation cvar to its default value if it detects your game config was written by a version less than 2.2.16. Reveries is still 2.2.15 internally, so its config is always written as 2.2.15, and thus the game constantly strongarms the model interpolation setting back to default as a result.

I'll have this fixed for the next update by just deleting the code in question, sorry for the annoyance in the meantime.

the ring attraction for blue rings after the Armageddon shield is used doesn't work in multiplayer. my friend was the one who used the Armageddon shield, but the attraction doesn't work for him either.

i think this is because i had pretty shield on, but i'm not sure. it's working fine in mp now, the only other thing i can think of that i have that modifies shields is pretty shield. sorry about this lol

ive been having camera issues when using a gamepad, occasionally (i think) whenever i do certain actions in-game it for some reason makes my camera turn really fast when im moving left or right with my left stick despite my controls not being bound to that. i havent found any way to fix this other than completely turning off my camera controls or setting it to a button input instead
edit: im pretty sure this might have something to do with actions while airbound? because i loaded up the game and i was fine until i ran into a crawla and the camera immediately messed up again.

Don't know if this has been reported yet but Honey the Cat is broken on reveries, her stomp attack is broken and as she can't spin this causes a soft lock in deep sea 2

candelavla updated Reveries with a new update entry:

F6: Springy Spruce Ups

Hi all! I've got the largest update in quite a while here.

With the recent news of 2.3's reduction in scope, it's become far more likely Reveries will eventually be ported to 2.3, given I find the time to do so. As such, I've made efforts in this update to increase Reveries overall compatability with maps designed for 2.2; and combed through the code to fix many longstanding issues, plus some new ones I found while playing the...

If you downloaded f6 within the first 20 minutes post release, please redownload. The previous version's reveries.pk3 was in the zip instead of the new one but I fixed it now. :dramahog:
