How am I this late to the party holy shitBABE WAKE UP A NEW REVERIES VERSION RELEASED
After getting lost in a mazey mine for a while, I've returned with a big batch of fixes to F6.
I also finally bothered to update the youtube video on the overview post, as the previous one was a recording of the last beta version and a lot has changed sicne then!
Changelog:
- Renamed some Reveries player states to more unique names to fix a conflict with Chaotix mod which broke Metal Sonic's Super Burnout charge thanks to Heavy having a state with the same name as it
- Spring...
quick question: does this addon have netgame support? :)
Reveries has full netgame support, but is segregated into a different Master Server instance due to Submission Rule 13: If your mod is a custom build exe, has net-game support, and is incompatible in any way with vanilla SRB2 netplay then it must include a custom MODID to avoid conflicting with vanilla SRB2 net-games on the Master Server.why doesn't this build connect to the vanilla master server
The easiest way is to manually copyIs there a way to have save data shared between reveries and base srb2 now that it uses it's own folder?
gamedata.dat to the Reveries folder. While affecting far more than specifically gamedata, you can also set up a batch file to change the entire home folder used by doing the following:reveries.pk3 and reveries.cfg from the Reveries folder into your normal SRB2 folder.txt extension in the Reveries foldersrb2rvre.exe -home yourSRB2folderpathhere in the file, replacing "yourSRB2folderpathhere" with the folder address copied from the Windows file browser.txt to .bat and launch it – keep in mind you'll need to use this batch file every time you launch ReveriesUnfortunately not that simple, as SRB2's netcode requires the server and client to be in absolute agreement or it will immediately desync. Even adding toggles would cause problems because vanilla wouldn't have the toggles in the first place. See also Redberries which has far less changes and is still netplay incompatible. There can be a way to allow vanilla net game support, allow a toggle to disable all of the unique abilities in the custom build manually
Two quick question: Is there a way or going to be a way to disable the character movesets, and is there a separate standalone addon that adds the character movesets?
I'm assuming you changed the control scheme to Manual? If you're looking for the Vanilla 2.2 Manual, pick Wanual instead. It's not a recommended way to play this mod but it shouldn't cause major issues...is there any way to disable the feature of the character ALWAYS looking straight forward?
thanks for letting me know, turns out it was a lot easier than I thought to fix, for years I've been playing on manual instead of using automatic, I only did this since I hated how the camera steered in the directions you turned, I just found the option to basically disable it, thanks for basically opening my eyes to this.I'm assuming you changed the control scheme to Manual? If you didn't change the control scheme, then your lockon mode is Toggle which allows you to switch between Automatic and Manual on the fly with the center view button, so just press that button to go back to Automatic. Noting that I should make that setting clearer, because I remember being incredibly confused what "Sticky Hold" was supposed to mean and thought Toggle would be that behaviour. And then Toggle did something else entirely, so I'd expect others get tricked by it too.
sonic's peelout gains speed over time, once you're fast enough to make afterimages you can press peelout button again for the boosted trickhow i do perform the dashmode trick?
i haven't used windows for several years so idk anymore really... stay tuned for next update, i should be able to supply a 32 bit build again so you won't have to hassle with the folder juggling anymorealso after making a bat file to put srb2 as home directory and running it, it just made another folder in the srb2 folder which didnt have the original files in my srb2 folder
